Do you think the new monkeys are here to stay?

I am assuming the monkeys will make their appearance at the end of the Woot-Off. Do you think there is a chance that we will see the O.G. monkeys, or are they sticking with the new ones?

I hope not. The only monkey I've ever bought was recently and it was sub-par (from what I hear).

I fear that we might be stuck with the new monkeys, based on other recent changes around woot, such as the switch from AA to Anvil blanks despite numerous complaints about diminished quality. Like @capguncowboy, my monkeys are recent acquisitions (last two woot-offs) and of the hard-nosed, masked-crusader type instead of the gentle-faced, hooded-hero type.

I need one more of the new style (wooooooooooooot!) that was given out at CES and then I want the original monkeys back!

I am simply an observer (having never bought or owned a woot monkey), by the general consensus is that the new monkeys aren't up to par.

My little family of monkeys is quite distressed, since I promised them a new sibling or two for their daddy's birthday, but if I have to get the new kids with plastic noses everyone will be able to tell they're adopted.

I recall a staffer saying in another thread on the monkeys that they were surprised to see the different style when they arrived. That would seem to suggest that they wanted the old style, and hopefully will try to get the old style in the future.

I just want a chance at the Giant Woot Monkey. Every time they've been available I've missed out.

If you check out the poll on Woot's facebook page, it looks like the newer monkeys are going to be around for while.

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?

Well, that's a bit tricky. See, we do a lot of stuff with your vote, using it to work out the popularity of what you voted for, compare that to all the other things voted on, tally up our leaderboard, work out your reputation.
