Not sure why you can't but I just tattled on it for you

Hmmm...I'm guessing that thread authors can't tattle in their own thread other than their own post. Because I can't tattle, here, either.

@secretagentwoman: The secret behind it is... you can't tattle on the comment itself. You have to hit tattle on your question, select "other" from the drop down box and type in what you're tattling on, in this case the the spammer. The staff will see it and not delete your question because you tattled on it, but the comment you're inquiring about.

@secretagentwoman: We have had quite a few comment spammers this weekend. It would be most helpful to tattle on them one time. We can look up all the comments they made and delete accordingly. Thank you!

Saw your comment here and gotcha taken care of.

@thunderthighs and @faughtey: Did I understand that correctly? When I find someone who is making multiple comment spams, you want me to tattle on each one, rather than to tattle on the first one or two, and then make a tattle that has a link to the spammer's comment tab? You know I'm much, much lazier than that, of course.

As you both probably know, if it's your random chinese counterfeiter web site kind of comment spam, after the fist couple I find, I'll hit the comment tab on a user to see how many there are, and then (if there are more than another one or two) I just use the link to the comment tab when I tattle. That may not be the best choice for you both, but it's the best for me, and it's all about me isn't it?

Seriously, I'm interested in whether or not my method is seen as helpful, and if not, why not.

@shrdlu: What I meant is just tattle one time. The method you use is great, because that's exactly what I do when deleting them. There are a bunch of tattles I'm going through right now (and since noon today), and quite a few are spammers. pew pew pew!

@shrdlu: I agree with @faughtey. I don't work from the tattles as I'm not on the Deals team but when I would look at them, I would say that one tattle per offender is enough. Just mention that there are more posts as well.

When I start my shift, I look through comments for the past x hours (depends if someone else has had a work shift before me) and look for spam and other problems. If I find a repeat spammer, I go to the internal site and filter comments by that user and start deleting. So I would think giving the user name and/or user tab would be helpful.

I'll reiterate my plea to not reply to spams with "SPAM" or the like because they won't get deleted when I/we use the filter to delete the spam posts.
