How are you celebrating Columbus Day?

It is a federal holiday. My husband has it off and as do my kids. So what do we do to celebrate this special day? My son wants to see Real Steel. My daughter wants to sleep in. My husband plans to search the internet for running boards for his new used truck. I will be cleaning house and checking deals.woot. Wouldn't it be a great day for a woot-off? A little woot monkey with a cape and a hat like Columbus? ...for @theoneill555 to add to his collection! What are you doing to celebrate?

Never celebrated Columbus day before. Maybe an Italian dinner w/a hearty red wine?? Do like the idea of a woot-off. :-)

I'm with @underinsomnia. Work, but at least I'm scheduled to get off at noon, so yay!

@gmwhit: I'd go Spanish food. I know Columbus was Italian, but it was Spain that made it possible for him to discover America

@captainsuperdawg: How about a combo Italian/Spanish meal? Paella w/pasta? No, not so good. Do know that I'd take the flan they make in Spain any day. Excellent. Main course Italian somethingorother, and dessert Spanish flan. Wine from either or both. Okay?

Laundry (would have done it today, but since I'm off tomorrow...)

A bike ride, maybe 20 miles, if I get an early enough start. (I did 15 miles today and feel good.)

Also, I need to cook a new ROM for my Android phone, and I doubt I'll finish it tonight, so maybe I'll just watch some TV tonight and do the ROM tomorrow.

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?

See, we do a lot of stuff with your vote, using it to work out the popularity of what you voted for, compare that to all the other things voted on, tally up our leaderboard, work out your reputation.
