@hobbit: I think staff does not want us posting the link in here.
Taken care of.
@thefenst: Thanks!
@nephrectomy1: What gave you that impression? we have been doing that for a while.
@nephrectomy1: It's fine to post the link to the offenders collection here on deals.woot. The link above in the OP helps us quickly find the collection and take care of it.
We prefer that the link to the offending web page is not posted here in these comments. It sort of defeats the purpose. :)
@jumbowoot: Thanks. I see the difference now.
@hobbit: My apologies.
Furthermore, the tattle is the best method of communication for letting us know about enthusiastic new members or counterfeit operations.
@hobbit: I am changing the title of this thread to "Counterfeit reporting".
@jumbowoot: I did tattle, but you know that.
@hobbit: tattle-tale! Remember when that was a perjorative? Did I spell that right?
Heard you were going to have temps in the 90s tomorrow. Slide on over to fresh and get you some of that bourbon.
@sand4me: no likey bourbon, had it at steeple chase and spit it out. The boys won't let me drink it anymore. I prefer rum and vodka. But check your messages on wooterville I left you something.
@hobbit: incoming - thanks.
Hmm.. let me guess, spamming links to footwear retailing sites?
There's a couple of those that have been very agressive spammers, any place there's a forum of more than a dozen people or so. They actually have radio ads on some streams, trying to get people to sign up and promote their product. Spamming to get more spammers - how meta.
What gets me is... it's for shoes. Why shoes? I suppose it's what they've got on hand, but if you're gonna run a spam campaign of biblical proportions, make it for something with a little panache, not knockoff shoes.
@robinbobcat: I don't think they would have that sort of thing. Counterfeiters wouldn't be allowed to do that. We aren't talking about designer knockoffs but actual counterfeit items, things that once purchased by an unsuspecting person wouldn't be allowed in the US because Customs would the incoming package and reject it. So the buyer wouldn't get their purchase, but the seller would have made off with the money.
Any deal online posted anywhere on the net. That says Chinese Wholesaler and lists designers like
Ralph Lauren (or a myriad of Mispellings of the name - which always amuses me), Christian Louboutin, Chanel, Gucci or Well pretty much any high end designer is a counterfeiter. Basically I am taking this thread as a third lesson to educate the populace about hunting for deals. You can not buy these items wholesale from China. As we have discussed before: http://deals.woot.com/questions/details/eeac9ce5-67df-41d7-af5c-4243cf128e47/did-we-once-and-for-all-get-rid-of-fake-designer-handbag-vendors-from-china#105 we linked in some really good information here. Articles about the lawsuits, the damage the counterfeit trade does, and the dangers.
DO NOT BUY from them. YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR GOODS.

I tattled but the counterfeiter is back again
@prettywootprincess
@jumbowoot
hoping staff isn't upset because I have been cranky this week over changes.
