Anyone know how to change a username on woot?
I was attempting to change my username. Does anyone know how to go about doing that?

Second to last post states that you can't, due to "security reasons." No clue if there has been any update to that. So, at least as far as I know, you can't.
...and I wish I could. :(
The only thing that's going to work is to just start over. Abandon this account (except that you'll want to access it for prior purchases and such), and make a new one. There's no other way that I know of. Sorry.
On the other hand, we can ask the big guys...

They're fun guys. At least one of them might have something to say.
I read somewhere that if you emailed service@woot.com, they would be able to change your username. I think it was on a woot.com forum.
I remember a while ago (I think when deals came out of beta) there was someone with five exclamations marks after their name and it wasn't showing up or something. I think this was the discussion about changing usernames.
nothing of value to add here just commenting to follow
@sgoman5674: Actually, when I re-read that thread, it said that they used to do it, but no longer. Something or other about security issues. Above my pay grade, so I have no further comments.
In addition to the aforementioned thread, I've also had some e-mail exchanges with them, and they won't combine accounts either... Just in case anyone was wondering. I was curious, since I've been an active Wooter for quite some time, but only recently abandoned the old moniker for a newer, more sparkly one in which to gallivant about, and they informed me that I can't take my prior Woot purchases with me... That was a sad day.
yes, sgoman - you're on the right track. The previous staff response is likely due to that issue - I believe they at least temporarily had to stop account name changes until they introduced code to clean up the name you were abandoning to avoid an annoying issue if that name was reused. Perhaps they never started to allow it again.

this was especially annoying because the consumerist appeared to misunderstand and misrepresent that actual full credit card info was involved (the user submitted x's in place of numbers because that's all he saw, not to protect the card info)
