Seems like a good deal; I have several blu-ray movies I've been unable to watch because I cannot yet reconcile needing to buy both the media and the player to watch it. So much for my attempt to "go legit". If I go to out to see a movie, I don't have to buy the theater, right? So for me the existence of blu-ray media actually encourages piracy.

That is the most horrible post I've read today. I have no idea what you mean. You buy the media but don't buy the player? Just making up words in a sentence makes no sense. You're saying you bought the media but refuse to buy the blu-ray player? You're renting the use of the theater to enjoy a movie. Pirating blu-ray for the reasons you listed. while you sit there with the media? ?????? is all I have to say.

Bought one yesterday even after reading the mixed reviews.
The price just couldn't be beat.
I trust Sony - Despite the fact that they are thieving bastards when it comes to accessories like the "not included" WiFi adapter which goes for $75 on amazon.
Also, looking forward for the USB connection to hook up any drive and retrieve/play MKV/AVI files.

@aclays6: I use this in repeater mode http://www.amazon.com/ZyXEL-Wireless-Ethernet-Universal-WAP3205/dp/B002LITI7K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338296480&sr=8-1 (just use an ethernet cable to connect your player), So dual purpose for me, extends my wireless network upstairs and is the internet connection for the Blu-Ray player.
