for some reason, i feel like clicking a link that takes me to www.soviet-power.com will only take me to a page that says: "AH-HA GOT YOU COMMIE!"
Captain Ramius: Re-verify our range to target... one ping only.
Capt. Vasili Borodin: Captain, I - I - I just...
Captain Ramius: Give me a ping, Vasili. One ping only, please.
Capt. Vasili Borodin: Aye, Captain.
Get a load of the Budenovka hats http://www.soviet-power.com/product.php?cat=44.
If I was fighting against guys in those hats I would die laughing.
"Don't shoot Tinky Winky!!!!!
LOL Ok, but seriously folks...
I bought one of these from Sharper Image back when they were Bricks-and-mortar, I'd say at least 15 years ago. Soviet Goods weren't known for their quality but this one is built like the sub it was supposed to go into. The manufacturer is "Vostok Clock Company" and I think this one is from the same people. The company I found out later has a very strong almost cult like rep and they're going for as much as $150 online.
I have one of these clocks - and it keeps great time. One wind works for one week. No issues with it at all. Note: it most likely is painted with lead paint...
@lavikinga: Kudos on The Hunt for Red October reference! ;)
those hats are actually have a purpose. the tip or "tassel" at the top you think is funny actually dispenses all the moisture from the head, preventing the cold from reacting with the users head as quickly as it would without it.
Has anyone purchased from soviet-power.com in the past? Any thoughts to share?
@thewootenator: agreed. +1 internets to you.
There has GOT to be a way to dispense or wick moisture without putting a frilly teletubby wee wee on the soldiers head.
My my, they have some interesting bronze sculptures for sale. Very, um, artistic?
@thewootenator: Don't ask me why, but those hats remind me of the flying monkeys in "The Wizard of Oz." Nothing like their monkey hats, but still...
In America, you watch clock.
In Soviet Russia, clock watches you!
"Shipping: AirMail: $40.00"
Holy Onatopp!
For some reason I think these will be hanging in the oval office pretty soon.
My fellow Americans, I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes.
My clock arrived yesterday (4/2). Hard to read the cancellation but it looks like it was shipped from the Ukraine on 3/27. All things considered, for international airmail of a box that heavy, shipping time was good.
And as billmoose and philipgroven allude to, the clock is awesome. I'm a happy camper. Now where can I buy a clock off an American submarine?
Instead of deals.woot, shouldn't this be sold on das.woot?
