I can't get it to go to the free ground shipping. The only thing it's showing is express for 8.33. It shows it when I have it calculate it on the cart screen, but when I go into the checkout screen it's not there.

vote-for1vote-against

just grabbed one, worked fine for me, used paypal though, not comfortable to share my credit card details

vote-for1vote-against

"Ships from China warehouse. Most customers receive in 2-3 weeks." Wow!

vote-for1vote-against

That Meritline website is as flaky as a box of Post Toasties. I wouldn't trust them with a PO box, let alone my credit card! Run, don't walk!!

vote-for1vote-against

I just went to the website and it says they are 2.99 - wassup? and it said the coupon was "invalid" Okay, finally worked, but I had to input the coupon code 3 different times to get it to take it.

vote-for1vote-against

You have to add the coupon code above.

I also use Paypal, but I still can't get it to give me the free shipping.

vote-for1vote-against

In for 3 for 9.99 with free shipping. (I used the code).

Woot!

vote-for1vote-against

"This Meritline coupon code is exclusive to newsletter subscribers. By using this Meritline coupon code you consent to receive additional deals and promotions through our free e-mail newsletter. You can remove coupon by clearing your cart."

Reminds me of an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. No thanks.

vote-for1vote-against

seriously? i paid $25 for bluetooth compatibility through the custom shop at HP for my laptop and I could have sacrificed one USB port for bluetooth compatibility at $1.97.... dammit.

vote-for2vote-against

Okay, the Merit Line website is not as flaky as Post Toasties, It's MORE flaky than Post Toasties. I'm guessing the place was set up by a former grade school principal, there's no mistakes allowed and no forgivness! I'm in for one with no coupon code, I've got enough friends without Merit Line acting like one! Sheessh.... I better get to bed

vote-for4vote-against

For all the people with coupon problems, it only works on the single unit. You can select the single and change the quantity, but it looks like the coupon is for $1.02, regardless of quantity. So 3 for $7.95 with free shipping.

Can anyone comment on the quality of these? I have a similar one, but it's not 2.0 (or maybe it is and it just sucks).

Edit: Went to DealExtreme, and they have a similar one for $1.98, with no coupon (coincidence that it was on their first page?)

vote-for3vote-against

Free shipping works,

Sub Total (Including Discounts): $1.97
Shipping: (Ground Service) FREE
Tax: $0.00
Total: $1.97

As far as the newsletter that is not the case just un-check the box that asks if you want the newsletters. If you get anything let me know.

vote-for0vote-against

I just bought one. Used paypal. Wish Me Luck.

vote-for4vote-against

Not sure why this is a deal -- this is going to ship from China and take three weeks to get to you. You can get it from dealextreme for the same price (well, OK, one cent more) with no quantity limitations, always free shipping, and generally none of the hassle. Guess I should go post that deal...

vote-for1vote-against

@prettywootprincess: I could not get the free shipping. still placed the order with notes to that effect plus sent a separate note, so we will see just how flaky they truly are.

vote-for2vote-against

OK, looks like DX's version is already listed:

http://deals.woot.com/deals/details/2166d0e3-1101-49c5-bf7b-47fe75b4efe5/super-mini-bluetooth-dongle-vista-compatible

And while you're buying it, get two or three. Sure, you don't save on shipping, but you can usually sell them off to your friends for $5 a piece, making them feel like they got a deal and paying for theirs and yours. >D

vote-for2vote-against

@irockash - Yes it's a coincidence, it's been on the front page of DX's website for a few months now. I just put two in my cart yesterday from there, still cruising the site to see if there's anything else I want.

vote-for1vote-against

Got one of these off Amazon a while back for a similar price. A bit finicky to set up but once you get it going it works fine.

Should come with the BlueSoleil program, but I'd just download it from bluesoleil.com, it'll be more current I'm sure.

vote-for2vote-against

those being charged shipping: Do not use a PO Box, forces them to specify 'usps' rather than 'free ground' which is why you're being charged. Give them a physical address (send it to work if you have to!)

In for 1.

vote-for1vote-against

In for one! Used paypal, gave me free shipping without trouble.

Just to warn y'all, AFTER you've bought it with the coupon code it gives you this nice little notice:
"By using a Meritline newsletter exclusive coupon code you consent to receive additional deals and promotions through our free e-mail newsletter. Thank You."

I figure at worst I'll have to blacklist their email address.

vote-for1vote-against

@diputsur: yep, that was it. thanks!

vote-for1vote-against

@bensonm: from the initial search it seems DX ships from china too, check this customer's video on his purchase on DX http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6wg6CQUkEs&feature=player_embedded the shipto address is in California USA, the shipping label includes customs form and air mail sticker

vote-for1vote-against

Ive never had a problem with meritline. Ive ordered numerous items too. It is out of Hong Kong so it takes forever to ship, but they have awesome deals, so if youre patient, good things will come...

vote-for2vote-against

The free shipping only goes if you're not shipping to a PO, otherwise it selects USPS as default.

Yeah, I have to agree with the 'box of toasties'. I think it's probably secure enough, but english is definately not their strong suit.

vote-for1vote-against

@mudi: Actually, it puts that disclaimer down on your shopping cart the instant you use it.. and I think it may be at the bottom of many of their 'utility' pages as well.

Fortunately, I have a few 'spambucket' accounts for just such an emergency.

vote-for4vote-against

DealExtreme says theirs is Vista-compatible, while Meritline is a little bare on their compat listing. Went for 3 @ DealExtreme, which added 22 cents, but switched to registered air mail, so I know it won't get lost from China (and might even ship faster). Thanks for the "tip", Woot'ers!

vote-for2vote-against

Meritline is great. I've bought many things from them, always using PayPal. Delivery time varies as the items come from all over Asia, but usually 1.5-3 weeks. Keep in mind, you usually get what you pay for.

vote-for2vote-against

I just ordered one, no problems at all. Coupon code worked, and free shipping was chosen automatically.

vote-for1vote-against

Great deal, in for 3 for $7.95 shipped. I've used Meritline many times before and had no problems-- you just have to be patient, just like DX and Kaidomain. My question is whether or not this (and the bluesoleil stack) supports a2dp-- for this price I can play with it and find out.

vote-for2vote-against

Wow now this is a very good deal!!!!

You have my vote!!!!

Also in for 1!

vote-for1vote-against

@kelliedn: I used your zip code and I got free shipping. Are you putting in the coupon code first?

vote-for3vote-against

These are incredible. They're the same as you'd find at buy. I cracked one open and the circuit is actually built onto the USB connector itself.
Oh, and it works great, too. It has reasonable range and doesn't get hot. I plugged it into the rear of my laptop and forgot about it.

By the way, it says "ships from China," but there is a warehouse in the US (I think in California) which often ships them out. I have gotten many Meritline orders in less than one week from a US return address, and also ones with Air Mail and customs stickers on them. It depends.

vote-for1vote-against

code still works. just ordered

thanks op!

vote-for1vote-against

you can buy the same one on amazon for the same price. I bought mine from amazon and works great for transferring ringtones to my cellphone.

vote-for1vote-against

Looks like the one I purchased from DX. It took me about 3 weeks to receive it as it was delivered from China. Works perfectly fine as I use it to sync my mobile. The build quality is as you would expect. The black cover came off once, but that is because i dropped it, just snapped back into place.

vote-for1vote-against

I don't order from eBay as I do not use Paypal, so I thought I'd give this a try. I'm in for two, wish me luck.

vote-for1vote-against

I'm definitely willing to wait a little for something like this. If I had to have it soon I'd let Best Buy pickpocket me for a dongle. Ordered one and we'll see if Meritline becomes a new shopping favorite.

vote-for2vote-against

Can someone who has this working point me to the software drivers? (Win7 64-bit).

vote-for2vote-against

I have bought from MeritLine several times. It's the cheapest place to find knickknacks (sd cards, usb flash drive, hdmi cables) without searching for a deal.

If the product is really cheap with free shipping, it ships from Hong Kong and averages 15-20 days but the good thing is most items ship free. If it is a $10 item or so, it ships from US and reaches in 3 days.

vote-for2vote-against

Got mine 3-4 weeks ago when it was only .99
Took 2 weeks to get here (in an envelope mailed from china/Singapore or somewhere)and works on every computer I have thrown at it; XP Pro, Vista, and Win 7. No extra drivers and good range.

vote-for1vote-against

It's says free shipping but when I checkout it is $11 for shipping

vote-for1vote-against

They increased the price by $1.02. Its now $2.99 per dongle. Nothing like a bait & switch. Fuhgeddit

vote-for1vote-against

I've used similar before and they usually aren't very good quality (I bought 2, had to have both replaced and now I've only got 1 of the 4 still working). Also, if you're looking to pair them to each other, look elsewhere. Even plugging one into my laptop, and one into my desktop, they share the same PID/VID or something. I don't remember exactly, except that my phone recognized them as the same device and this caused problems. I know now that PID/VID can be changed or something, but I really don't know enough about the Bluetooth Stack to know if each device is has some sort of hardwritten MAC-ID type number (if they do, these devices don't have unique ones).

vote-for2vote-against

@titangears: that's the price before the coupon. no bait. no switch.

vote-for1vote-against

@mojobonbon: the coupon only gives you free shipping. It doesn't reduce the price. I tried it.

vote-for1vote-against

@mojobonbon: I looked again, and you are correct. I see the discount listed in small print below the zip code box. Thanks for telling me.

vote-for1vote-against

I ordered a different product from these guys just over a week ago and it already got here (Las Vegas) from China. So it was much faster than expected. I think how quickly it gets to you may be part luck. As for the quality of the item I'd be suspicious, but for under $10...

vote-for1vote-against

Is anyone else having trouble connecting to BlueSoleil? Went to check it out and haven't been able to connect all day.

thx in advance,
jeff
