On September 30th, 1960, Americans sat down to watch the premiere of a prime-time animated series called The Flintstones. It was the first prime-time animated series on American television, and heavily influenced by a big TV hit of the 50's, "The Honeymooners."
Now you can own all 28 episodes of season one for a low $13.99. This was Hanna Barbara's experimental season, and has bits of strange animation that John Kricfalusi goes crazy over. I actually gifted this season to my friend's kid, and my friend got mad because she found them to be politically incorrect (so you know they're awesome!).
