Shutter lab time is given by CNet reviews as 0.4 seconds in good light and 0.7 seconds in poor light (indoors flash needed). Pic to pic delay time is 2.8 seconds. You make up your mind if this is fast enough to be useful; I have. While professional reviews rate the picture quality as adequate, many owner reviews do not agree.

I reviewed one of these a year or so ago at a big box store, and couldn't get a sharp picture out of it even in good light with a flash. (Bring your own SD card if you want to do this).

All in all this camera is the embodiment of the problem of the MegaPixel race versus quality; the number of MP unfortunately has nothing to do with the resulting picture sharpness, but the negative affects of a very dense, very small CCD having poor speed and light sensitivity outweigh all other benefits.
