Clever name! Great marketing idea for an item that absolutely no one really needs. But for the person with everything.... And how many people do you know who can say they have a "Bootie butler"?

vote-for1vote-against

good if you own a museum with polished granite floors? right?

vote-for-3vote-against

Downvoting this one because not only is it a useless product - I use shoe covers at work and can't imagine 'needing' this - but also you get an error when you try to use the site link.

vote-for3vote-against

You know who might need this? People who use booties. You might disregard the product but there are many professions who require them. Would you like the cable man to enter your house with his dirty shoes that lack booties?

My qualm is the fact that their site is down, huge fail.

vote-for8vote-against

as a person that does in-home surgery, i might need this. but shhh...don't tell the AMA.

vote-for7vote-against

I'll have Jeeves order several of these for the manse: one for the servants' entrance, one for the tradesman's entrance, one for ...

vote-for1vote-against

looks like the site's been overrun already. I can't even connect to the deal.

vote-for6vote-against

This is Greg from BootieButler. Yeah, our site went down, but we are working to get it back up asap.

@carl669: Someone got busted in Miami, doing plastic surgery in the garage. They got caught when someone got an infection, from the carpet padding they used for bust enhancement. Was that you?

I'm sure realtor's that show high end properties use these so the custom flooring etc isn't marred while showing homes.

Site still down. I'm abstaining from voting because I really have no idea of how much this type of specialized product normally goes for.

vote-for2vote-against

sounds like a bad college nickname...
"don't worry, ladies, every bootie will be properly served."

Q: What do you call the assistant to a rich pirate?

vote-for3vote-against

@uskrewed: Right? Like that guy from The Departed. He needed them to hide his DNA.

All kidding aside, I agree with you. Some professions, besides the medical profession, will find these useful. I posted above, but realtors of high end properties do ask potential buyers to take their shoes off (usually at the owners request) so the flooring isn't damaged by the hordes.

Also, some people are really super allergic. Others are a bit OCD. Some may have depressed immune systems that require more sterile home environments. Useful product, not sure if it's a good deal or not moneywise. Site was still down so I haven't been able to read all the info.

You know who uses these? That ridiculously expensive plumber I use to call. Now I call Carlos and he gets the work done just as well in 1/2 the time for 1/3 the money and best of all, I don't get annoying '$10 off you next service call' mailers every few months.

So THIS is what I was paying for? (Funny thing, his shoes were always just as clean as mine, so I never figured out what he needed them for.)

vote-for2vote-against

All of you saying this is pointless are idiots . i worked for att uverse and you be surprised how many times customers would thank me for wearing these... your constantly walking in and out of the house and well your shoes don't seem to stay clean...and not to be racist but a very big chunk of the asian customers would ask me where i got them from. and some would even try to get me to take my boots off if i didnt have the booties...

Been trying for over 2 hours to buy one and getting nowhere. What is wrong with the site???????!!!

vote-for3vote-against

I saw "Bootie Butler" and thought of something else entirely.

vote-for2vote-against

Now it's been over 3 hours. Will we get a rain check? Did your site simply fail, or was it overwhelmed in some way?

vote-for4vote-against

These would be great for covering your shoes when painting.

vote-for1vote-against

Starter Pack for $50 . . . . .??????

Where does it END??????

vote-for4vote-against

Everyone, the site appears to be back up.

vote-for6vote-against

Also a great name for a porn site. I have hardwood floors and 2 dogs that shed like crazy. I use the booties to pick up loose dog hair. Kinda like Swiffer for your feet.

UPDATE: Greg from BootieButler here. I want to apologize to the community for our site being down. We just weren't ready for demand we saw this morning. To make amends, we are going to extend this offer through Sunday. But wait, there's more! Use promo code "doh!" and receive free shipping on anything you buy from our site. Thanks for your understanding.

vote-for-4vote-against

@uskrewed: I've never seen any professional use booties before entering my home or the home of anyone I know and don't know. You fail sir. Good Day to you.....I SAID GOOD DAY!

vote-for5vote-against

@gregcompton: Something tells me the demand wasn't to buy them, but just to see if your site was for real.

vote-for6vote-against

You all realize that the boxes of shoe covers, or "booties", come in a box that is auto-dispensing...right? you do know this.....?

vote-for7vote-against

@woottacular5566: No doubt that a lot of the traffic was due to the brand name. When your flagship product is called "BootieButler" you learn to have fun with it.

vote-for4vote-against

@gregcompton: It seems like Hospitals and such would be all over this product. Or anywhere a union exists I guess...places like that don't care how much something costs, they just want...newer...better...faster...cleaner...etc

Not so sure about the woot community, we want cheaper, refurbed, slower(smart post anyone?)

vote-for2vote-against

@woottacular5566: Did you watch the video? I've never seen a simple box of booties do that! Pretty sweet, actually...

vote-for2vote-against

@seattlehellers: I just watched the video. It took like....10-11 hours for the site to be available.

So I had no choice, but to go by the description and pictures. Which describe and picture it as a dispenser, when in reality; this is clearly a shoe bootie APPLICATOR.

Still....I don't see how this is useful. If the booties are clean, what's the problem with bending over and sliding one off. I mean, you have to remove the dirty one manually anyway.

This product is akin to an automatic door opener. Just use your hand...you have two of them!

vote-for1vote-against

I nominate we chage the name from booties to something like booters or boot caps

vote-for4vote-against

@woothulhu: Booties is what nurses call them. They think it's cute. You have a HUGE adversary if you try to change the name...good luck ! I'm rooting for you.

vote-for5vote-against

@woottacular5566: Thanks for the suggestion. Description updated on the site.

In addition to open houses and model houses, I live in an area of multi-milliion dollar homes (I do not live in one). Several charitible organizations during the years have tours - especially at Christmas - for fundraisers. They always have booties that you must sit down and struggle to put on before you can enter, and it is a royal pain to get them off and return them to the box. Suffice it to say that by the end of the day, there are a bunch of dirty booties worn by many people. I personally do not NEED these but there are people and organizations that do.

vote-for2vote-against

I am thinking I will just SIT this one out.

vote-for3vote-against

Great video.."I just wanna buy this so when my buddies come over I can yell "Booty"! Too funny. And a really neat product. Looks like refills are reasonable, too.

Up vote for the Bootie!

vote-for3vote-against

At this price, it's worth it just to get for repairmen that come into your house. They usually have their own, but the ones I've seen them wear are almost as dirty as their shoes, and often ripped. They have a special right now for the metal finish ones for only $15. If you own a house, this is a must-have!
