If you haven't seen this movie, it's fantastic!
The storyline is wonderful and the special effects are decades ahead of their time. It's really hard to believe that it was made in 1956, until you see how young the late, great Leslie Nielsen is in it (he actually played a non-comedic role)!
That said...
Amazon has the Blu-Ray version (with all the same extras) for only $7.99... free shipping with Prime (maybe the $25 order free deal, not sure).

Also... NO, the robot is not "B9" from Lost In Space, this one is considerably more impressive and they actually share little in common (a lot of people confuse them, and I'll never understand why).
This robot character was used in many, many movies and TV series after this movie was made, but was made for this movie. I believe it was at the time the most expensive movie prop ever made (this is not a "'50s B-movie", it was very high budget for its time).
Oh - I forgot to mention above (and it won't fit now)... the one thing this has that the Blu-Ray I linked to doesn't is the toy.
