16 Piece Watch Repair Tool Kit with Watchband Link Pin Remover, Screwdrivers, Case Wrench, & More for $4.99 + free shipping
Makes a great Father’s Day gift!
The tools are worth the $4.99, but I bought mine specifically for the pin remover. However, my watchband was about 1/16" too wide to fit in the tool. YMMV.
I have a set like this (exactly like this, by the look of it). If you do any repair on your own watches (including changing batteries) this set can come in very handy.
Thanks for the comments. I've been waiting for this deal to reappear!
I mainly bought this to be able to open up watches to change batteries with less risk of scratching up the backs. But the other tools might be handy too.
Better price and a different variety of tools than my Harbor Freight kit... in for one.
I could swear they had this exact set for sale for at least the past two weeks, except it was $2.99. Maybe this one has more tools than the previous one?
While not entirely relevant to the posted deal, the supposed retail prices on most everything I see on the site are pretty inflated. Also somewhat amusing is a trick some manufacturers have been using to make their products seem better than they are: "Swiss quartz" or "Japan quartz" is being used a bit deceptively. The actual movement and electronic gubbins in many of these are Chinese, but the quartz crystal itself is imported just so they can say it's Swiss or Japanese.

I snagged this a while back and it's pretty much what I expected. It would have been nice if it included some kind of picture of how to use each one.
Act fast!!! Or not!!! dynamitetime ALWAYS sells this at this price. Its a fine set to have if you like to tinker and make adjustments with your watches. Good for changing the battery and whatnot, but theres nothing special about this offer
The "Swiss" and "Japanese" refer to the movement of the watch. The easiest explanation is in swiss the second hand moves continuously (like a rolex) and japanese the second hand jumps from second to second. Obviously there is a lot different internally to the watch, but that's an easy tell
I bought this set when it was up a couple months ago. The tools are what you would expect for the price, but I was able to take a couple links out of the band of one of my wife's watches with relative ease. The blue thing is pretty much useless, the pin would just bend and not push the link out when I tried to turn the crank, but all you really need is the holder, pin punches, mallet, and pliers to get the job done. I would say this is worth it for the price.
@revragnarok: Ditto. Instructions or at the very least a comment about each tool would be helpful.
This should make it much easier to adjust my watch bands than trying to hold it steady while using a push pin and a hammer to pop the pins out. :)
I bought one of these a few months ago. Quality of some of the tools is so-so, but for the price a nice assortment of stuff for small parts work.
This item is a lifesaver when you need to add or remove links from your watch. I've used it several times now and as a result saved my tons of frustration, spikes in blood pressure, anger, rage, the accompanying years shaved off my life from stress and marital problems stemming from the bad mood I'd have been in without this handy tool set. Totally worth the price.
I bought this kit and it's very useful. Heck, use it once to change a band or adjust a bracelet or replace a battery and it more than pays for itself. I've seen this pop up for $2.99 all the way up to $7.99. But at any of these price points it's a nice starter purchase if you dabble in watches
The website looks awfully shady. Are the watches knockoffs? "Fell off the truck ;)" specials? The chatter here at least reassures me that they aren't fly-by-night, but can I trust them with my credit card number?
@drakono: You can trust them. I bought this item from them a while ago and only 1 piece broke because I misused it. Surely a good deal.
We have this set at the house and love it. Bought it to change batteries and it came in handy to change a band on a skagen (tiny screws). Highly recommend.
@voovfeegbean: I've found Youtube and Google (in general) very helpful for videos and instructions on using tools I had no experience with. fwiw
@drakono: yes you can trust them with your credit card. I bought my wife a watch from them about 6 weeks ago and nothing wrong with my credit card so far ( crosses fingures) I also wanted to buy this watch kit for when it was $2.99 but I didn't have enough funds at the time.
I have this set also and have changed 3 batteries in my families watches so far. Just be warned, if you have a watch where the back is not screw off, you will need a watch press to get the back on again which is not included in this set. I recently learned that the hard way.
I got this last time it was here. Better quality stuff than I expected. Worth the 5 bucks.
I bought one for the wrench dealie for removing the back of the watch. I figure the kit is a few bucks cheaper than one visit to the watch kiosk at the mall, so assuming I don't get completely hosed when I buy batteries, this should work out for me. I'll probably also enjoy having tools specifically for removing watch links and such, because I usually just use the nearest mechanical pencil.
An instruction book would have been very helpful if your not in the watch repair business........
@jfg1322: I agree
@voovfeegbean: I agree
This is a great tool set. Have one use it all the time - worth the money - just wish it came with a nice box or bag.
@ghengiskhan: i second this motion. carry on
