@goatcrapp: I know that . . . but doesn't Woot have someone approve the postings? I think yes.

I may have taken out my annoyance at Jos. A. Bank out on your post. They may be some deals to be had. But this company just annoys me . . . they always run these annoyingly high-energy TV ads in my area.

@ssiemonsma - woot did not post this deal, I did. Deals.woot is a user driven site, where users pass along deals they have heard about or taken advantage of themselves. I don't work for jos a bank, but saw some good prices on things i needed, and passed it along. Sorry if their pricing frustrates you. I find it no different than most of the other mall brand clothiers and department stores. Macy's absolutely does the same thing, as does kohls.

Not everything winds up being a deal after the 70%, to be sure. Yes, there is creative pricing going on. At the end of the day though, a decent quality dress shirt for 26$ is still a deal. the cedar shoe trees i got are a STEAL (try and find them cheaper - they can't be plastic) and several other items wound up benefiting from the 70% sale more than others, like lets say.. the cashmere. ( i don't wear cashmere, so didn't even look at their pricing.)

Woot, please never post any "deals" from Joseph A. Bank again. Their entire business strategy is to advertise superfluously and to make it look like they're always having a huge clearance sale. But, in reality, they just jack up their "retail price" severely so that it looks like you're saving money. They're always doing the nonsense like buy-one-get-2-free suits, etc. It's annoying. They should just do regular pricing.

Yeah I just looked at a dress shirt that was $50 two days ago, and it's $87 now! It's still a deal at 70% off (about $26) but WTF?

So is this one of their "better" sales for the year, then? Seems like a different one touting buy one, get one x% off each week.

Um, this looks like no deal to me-- the listed prices (e.g. $88 for a cashmere sweater) is ALREADY considering the "70%off" of the "regular price" of $295. Call me crazy, but $300 is not the "regular price" for any made-in-china cashmere sweater. $90 is.

If any single person has ever bought a made-in-china cashmere sweater from JosABank for $295, I'd love to know. http://www.josbank.com/menswear/shop/Product_11001_10050_328112

Also, suits are exempt from the 70% off sale, but are a nice deal with Buy one at 50% off, get one free:
