These things go up on Meritline for dirt cheap all the time (not even close to $5, more like $1.50). IMO this is not worth the time to mail the rebate and the risk of forgetting to mail the thing. Unless you really need one soon (MUCH faster shipping from Newegg).

Sure, you could buy from china, and hope it gets delivered before your 80th birthday , and save a couple bucks....or you could order from New Egg and have it by the weekend. Add in the MIR, and it becomes free (plus whatever a stamp costs these days) ....and you still get it by the weekend.

Hmmm,....tough choice.

I always need bluetooth for something, and you'll never hear me complain about initially paying $5 if there's a rebate involved after the fact. This is a good deal.

I've purchased two of these from Meritline, and neither of them worked. I'll probably give Newegg the benefit of the interest.

Good deal but I had forgotten what a pain in the neck ordering from NewEgg is now with the Verified by Visa crap.

You must log-in to newegg.com before you can enter the promo code.

@charlesp2009: Just click skip when that window pops up. It's not mandatory...

...or use Mastercard...

I also bought 2 from meritline. Both work great! I just plugged them in, the computer loaded the software, and my phone and headphones work great with my computer now. They took 2 weeks to get to me and they were shipped the next day after I bought them. Cost me $2 total and no shipping cost.

Companies create rebates with the knowledge that people misplace the forms or never bother to send them in. Look at Menards. They're big on rebates for a reason.

This is a good deal until you have to fill out the rebate. I have never seen such a convoluted system of registering just to receive $5. It took me about 10 minutes to register an Asus account just so I could download the rebate form.

Once download, you need to sign and date your form. Since when do we need to signature for a lousy $5 rebate?

I also laughed at the "mailing label" that I am suppose to use on my envelope. It suggests that your rebate will not be processed unless you use their mailing label. Thank you, but I think I will run the envelope through my laser printer like I always have done.

I know that some companies try and make it as difficult as possible to redeem a rebate, but this one takes the cake! I just hope that the BT211 was worth the effort.

I bought one of these from Meritline and it worked great, had it up and running in 10 minutes.

Email from newegg less than a mintue after ordering.... Item out of stock order cancelled. RIP.

Item's in stock, at $12.99

$7.99 after rebate.

Not so much a deal at this point.

I just noticed it only works with xp or vista, kinda kills it for me.

Out of stock. Don't bother getting your info harvested!

Just to add a comment, the ones sold on meritline are the 2.0 version of bluetooth. These are 2.1 with EDR. This is what is required to properly get a PS3 controller to connect to a windows PC. The one I bought from meritline does not have EDR and I can not use it. I wish I saw this earlier today. It's what I've been needing.

@tcayer: Not everyone has a Mastercard, yo. I do myself have one, but not everyone! Not babies! And dogs! And people in the distant past!

Back in stock, it seems: $12.99 w/$5 rebate and free shipping.
