Sounds great, but have never heard of On the Border. Guess they are not in North Carolina?

Alas, there is no On the Border where I live. Which is ironic, since I am actually on the border, my house is about a mile and a half from Mexico. Of course, our plentiful family owned Mexican restaurants out compete all but the hardiest chains-- Taco Bell, Taco Cabana and Taco Tote.

Freaking AWESOME, they're back. Protips:

-Don't fill up on rice.
-Don't be tempted by the chips and salsa, they're not that good and are filler
-They bring you only 2 at a time. It's a ploy to get you to fill up on as little as possible. How do you get around that? When they bring you 2, IMMEDIATELY order your next 2, so you get them just after you finish those 2.

I downed 16 the last time I went with that method (and then didn't eat anything for the next 1.5 days after all that food), and if I really tried (didn't eat breakfast, etc.), probably could have pushed 20. :)

@thericochet: Is that your way of hinting you'd like a gift certificate?

None in Nebraska... Unfortunate.

The last one I went to had a great patio! It's a little too chilly outside right now to enjoy eating al fresco.

North Carolina: There's also one outside of Concord Mills

Let me jump on the on the border bandwagon. They are a fantastic place to take kids. The kids menu is great and relatively inexpensive for the content. The atmosphere is also such that if your kids are reasonably well behaved (e.g. don't run naked through the restaurant smearing poop on everything), everyone should have a good time. Ruth Chris on the other hand is probably not a good kids restaurant, regardless of their scatological leanings.

Outer Banks of North Carolina has lots of great eateries, but this is not one of them. Thanks anyway.
