Buy your SquareTrade warranties! That's all I have to say about this television... ;)
$299.99 + $17.49 shipping @ Amazon (through Shtolzz Corp) Mostly positive reviews.
Got one from Woot about a year ago. Have it in my bedroom and it's just fine,no problems.
Bought one from Woot last month and didn't work right out of the box. Still working with Philips warranty and Woot to see who's going to fix or replace the TV.
I agree with Shortcake.. Bought this refurbed television from Woot a year ago for my Grandfather. Picture and sound are excellent still to this day.
Personally, I don't understand why people are feared by the word refurbished. 98% of the time an item that has been refurbished is thoroughly inspected and corrected if there's a defect and still has the warranty. I'd say that coming from the factory there's an inspection on about 1 out of every 20 to check if that 20th product works properly. If it does then they assume the previous 19 work fine. We all know that there's a few out of that 19 that are defective. So, If you figure you're getting a better deal because it states "New in the box" and it works better than a refurb, you're in for a surprise..More time has been spent on the refurb to make the defect corrected. You're dealing with electronics here..Just a tad bit more sensitive than a rock. Even a rock can chip during transport.
Saw this at Costco this weekend. Not a very bright picture and it was less there -- something like 179.00 There are much better 32" sets out there for this amount of money.
No QAM tuner??
Mine arrived last Friday following the Woot Off. Fired up and has a nice picture. Perfect for the 15x15 room.
My son picked this up last summer for his campus apartment. It was shipped right to campus and has stood up to daily abuse as the main TV for four people. No problems at all and if it were to fall out a window or meet some other fate, it was inexpensive enough that he could work instead of going on spring break and get another one. No complaints
I own one of these, watching it right now. Good TV overall. However, it has a source button instead of allowing you to send individual input commands. This prevents me from automating the setup with my Harmony universal remote. If you want to use a universal remote and switch between inputs regularly, I cannot recommend this device.
Bought one last year. I have it in my bedroom have had no problems
@ienvyno1: It's because we don't trust the companies. We think they are all just trying to move product, and that they would be happy to send out a non-working refurb and then put us through refund/RMA hell so we won't get to get a good one.
I got a refurb PC once, and someone left in the worksheet from the return. It had error messages from the hard drive listed. The PC booted, but when I ran a checkdisk, the errors were still there. So basically, they took a new, defective hard drive and reformatted it around the bad sectors. A week later, the machine quit booting.
So, yes, that machine had more time spent on it, but all they did was get it working enough to resell. They didn't fix the problem, and in this case, they knew EXACTLY what it was. They could have put in a tested drive, but they didn't. They sent it out with the same defective part in it.
I just bought this 32" LED and it seems a better deal than this refurb. Been this price for weeks. Got it after returning a Dynex 32" LED from Best Buy.

Bought one for the bedroom about 2 months ago when they offered this deal the first time. Works great, good picture. I also use it to stream movies/etc. from my laptop and it works well with that.
@deminne: Work instead of spring break. Ha ha
@scherocman: Are you sure you can't use the harmony with it? I have a harmony 550 and I use it with TV's that have source buttons. There is a screen when setting the remote up with the computer that asks about that. Ultimately, if the remote that comes with the TV can do something, so can the harmony.
I bought this 40" New from Amazon in early December for $249 and it is 1080p and has been flawless. TCL L40FHDF12TA 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV with 2-Year Warranty
I realize it is $349 now but it varies a lot

Something to consider about pricing....
@edgoodman: never use a refurbed hard drive. I learned the hard way, too. I'm rockin' a SSD/HDD RAID1 team now.
Also, can connect directly to your PC if you already have the HDMI connector (my Geforce GTX 470 has one).
Looks like a good second TV. Tempted, but I want to replace my main TV (a 37") with a 42" set (biggest TV that will fit in my entertainment hutch.)
I bought mine less than a year ago and it became the most regretful Woot purchase I made from the day it arrived.
I hadn't had issues with refurbished TVs in the past -- refurbished anything, really -- but this TV showed up completely scratched across the top of the bezel. About two months in, this Philips TV consistently stopped turning on. This is a frequent complaint on this TV.
A fantastic Woot user recommended a firmware update which made things slightly better, but it still takes about nine tried to turn it on and keep it on.
@lzaworski: I've never seen a Philips television at Costco. Are you sure about the brand and model?
Got mine two months ago, and it has problems with the HDMI connection (it will randomly cut off the signal during movies and games). I will probably try to get a replacement from Philips.
You can find 32" HD TVs for $200 NEW if you are patient and shop around.
I bought this TV from Target for $259.99. It works great for a bedroom tv.
@scherocman: Rule of thumb: If your universal remote costs more than you television, it's probably NOT compatible for direct input selections.
Bought a Phillips from WOOT 2 years ago. Purchased in late October as a Christmas present. It died at the beginning of February. Still dead. Phillips 90-day warranty expired 2 days before it died. Word of advice -- get the EXTENDED warranty.
I got this one from woot six months ago when it was $249.99.
Works great. The only thing is that it doesn't seem to like the signal from the DVR when first turning the TV on, but switching the source to something else and back forces it to reread the signal. Kinda annoying, but it may just be my DVR.
Horrible, Horrible Quality!

Bought this TV in May 2011. Worked fine for 4-5 months. The left half of the screen went dead since then. Looks like there is some loose contact in the soldering somewhere inside. It works for a day if I hit it hard enough and then it dies again. Careful before you buy..!
Have ordered 3 of these in the past year and a half. All still work flawlessly. One in my office, one in my sons room and one in my RV. Am ordering another now for my bedroom.
For $34 more (when you add in the $5 shipping) you can get a new one delivered free from Amazon.
does anybody know the measured input lag of this LCD in a 480i scenario? I can also use more HDTVs that are reasonable for bemani/fighting games.
I bought this TV in January. Other than some trouble with the shipping information not getting posted, the TV arrived in two weeks in good shape. I have been using it for two months now and have no complaints.
I've been reading reviews for hours because of the negative reviews on Amazon based on the link above....just to find out it was the wrong LINK. http://www.amazon.com/Philips-32PFL3506-F7-32-inch-Black/product-reviews/B004SP0EY0/ref=cm_cr_dp_all_recent?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending
bought one a few months ago, on Woot. Did not work right out of the box. Phillips was a real drag to deal with. Finally got my replacement tv about 8 weeks later, and at least 8 different miserable phone conversations. New tv works, however there is a small blue light in the middle of the screen that is always on. Kinda distracting, but I did not want to go through the hassle of calling Phillips again. I will never buy another Phillips anything, again.
@nancy33498: Does the "free" shipping require Prime? Also, is it sold by Amazon itself or by a third-party seller?
