My search criteria (Men's, M or L, Distance, all styles but half rim, include sunglasses, all price points besides $49.99+) returned ZERO results.

I got nothing until I got to the $49.99+ frames.

This makes me sad.

EDIT - I tried it again in a new window and got 93 in the $4.99 range. Odd. I am no longer sad.

EDIT #2 - The "Include sunglasses" button seems to not INCLUDE the sunglasses but make it EXCLUSIVE TO the sunglasses. Now I am just confused.

Over 500 styles are in $4.99 category.

I only hope that with the frequency that glasses sites are posted here, they'll still be posted just as often when my exam eligibility comes up next month...

Do you have to have a recent doctor's prescription with these eyeglass websites? How are things proven? Or do they just make whatever prescription you plug in?

@taurine - I know with Glasses Unlimited that I just got my doctor to fax me my prescription and then scanned and uploaded it to the web site. Real quick and easy, and I'm assuming it would be the same thing here.

@taurine - That's exactly how it works. I got a pair of glasses from goggles4u a couple months ago. I just typed in my prescription, and that's what they made - no verification or anything.

For what it's worth, though, the glasses I got are fantastic. I ordered them to be a "spare pair" because my then 6-month old was getting very grabby with my expensive frames, and they've become my everyday glasses. I love them. I have a strong prescription and a slight astigmatism, and have had no problems with the frames or the lenses in the 4 or so months I've had them.

from what i am seeing, this is no special deal? if im somehow wrong, tell me! the 4.99 glasses are 4.99 shipping always. i did not enter the code. you pay $20 for your basic prescription lens? meh, ill stick with zennioptical.com for the real 8.99 glasses :x

Prices seem great, but if shipping time is a concern, you might want to verify up front. They claim TRANSIT time is 10-12 days. Don't confuse this with the total amount of time from the date of order. The clock does not start running until AFTER the glasses have shipped from their production facility in Thailand--which is not noted anywhere in their website. Further, "days"=business days. They batch produce the items (i.e. they don't produce on an order-by-order basis), so who knows how long it will take before they have enough orders to meet their batch amount. (FYI: They claim they were once sister concerns with GlassesUnlimited.com). For comparison, EyeBuyDirect.com actually delivered within 12 days (absolute days, not business days).

@daniofthedead: when you put in the code it takes $20 off.

vote-for1vote-against

Done. Even if they're crap, it's worth it to have a backup pair.

I see it has been 20 days since this deal was posted. Who has received their glasses since then? I'm curious about how long it really takes.

Update: I guess I was just getting impatient. They're here after 3 weeks.

So...still works. Code DEALWOOT got me a $10 frame with regular lenses for $14 shipped. Worth a shot, IMHO.
