That really is a heck of a price! In for one! Estimated delivery is 8/6-8/11! Fantastic deal, you quite possibly will never find a 47" LCD tv for this price ever again!!

I have the 42" version of this. It is garbage. It turns off randomly, although it kindly turns itself back on, so I guess that's a plus. Philips had me update the thing when I tried to use the warranty, it did no good. All I got was the run-around. I am now waiting for the extended warranty to take effect so that perhaps I can get some help. I will never buy a Philips product again.

@johnnyschmitz: I would have never bought it from walmart...

Walmart didn't make the television. I don't see how the quality of this TV were any different if it were ordered from a different big box store/online site.

I have a Philips LCD TV and have had it for 3 years - never a single problem.

I have this TV. I bought it a year and a half ago for $900. No problems with it at all. If you're still bumming around with a CRT this will certainly be a great upgrade. It's only 60Hz but it still looks great (remember, your monitor runs at 60Hz). The blacks could be darker but I've seen MUCH worse.

If you're looking for value, this is it. Just in time for football season!

Yeah? I don't think so. I bought a 46" LCD from walmart right after Thanksgiving a year and a half ago -- fine, but somebody else got the folks one too. The store wouldn't let me return it, even with the receipt, after Christmas. I've still got it sitting unopened in my basement.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I buy big-ticket items from walmart again.

Philips is a terrible brand. Look up reviews on any website. I found this out the hard way when my 42" LCD died after 18 months. I called Philips and was told that because it was out of the warranty they would not repair it. When I asked what I should do with my $1500 paper weight they told me to "look someone up in the yellow pages" I was then quoted $807 for a repair when I can now find a similar tv for less. I bought a new TV, but it sure wasn't a Philips, I went with Toshiba.
