Awesome drive. I have two! I use them in RAID1 as drives for my server, and it's plenty fast enough (faster than the older 7200 RPM drives) and lots of space for less than 5W per drive. I'm thinking about getting a couple for my desktop, too.

No deal here. I just bought this drive (oem new) on newegg for 59.99 free shipping a couple weeks ago.....

I would personally rather spend the $16 or so more and get it from www.newegg.com because they are a more trust worthy site that has no issues replacing a purchased item if defective. If you sign up for there emails i have seen them for cheaper than this on there 24/48 hour sales.

My son and I just built a home theater PC. We scoped out what we wanted and then just waited for it all to go on sale. It took about a month for everything to be on sale and we ended up with the 2TB version of this hard drive (on sale + with a coupon code at Newegg for $99 with free shipping). It works great with Ubuntu 10.04.

@jasonp333: I've had a good experience with gearxs customer service. I got a flaky mouse with a keyboard/mouse combo and emailed them for an RMA. Before I got back to check my email (about 3 days), I received a package containing a new mouse and a prepaid shipping return label.
I have called them twice about other order(s) and a real live person responded quickly and professionally. I get the distinct impression they care a lot about customer satisfaction.

The web site says it should be 54.98!? Has anyone confirmed this? I saw it on their home page!

I have two Caviar Green drives for my htpc, and they perform well. I've had no issues. While I need two more of these, I will not be buying into this deal: the product page lists these as Recertified.
