dealsknots 3d: free app of the day at appstore for…

Interesting, but this comment from a user stopped me dead:

"Alas, such a wonderful app is marred by the inclusion of a tangled mess of spyware. It contains modules from AdKnowledge, InMobi and Inneractive advertisers, Flurry Analytics, Open Feint and Papaya Social (WHY?), and the Corona, Facebook and Zong developer tools. It calls on the Full Internet Access, Read Phone State and Identity and View Network State permissions."

@drgandalf: That is certainly disturbing. Why do app builders pull that kind of crap?

Stop it, that joke is knot funny at all!

vote-for8vote-against

The problem here is that the modules and permissions are included in the CoronaSDK development framework by default and they cannot be removed. These modules are not used and the app itself does not phone home or access any personal information whatsoever. Rest assured, there is no nefarious plan to steal your data or give any information to marketers. In the next release (due out next month) I'll add clarification to the app description regarding the permissions and modules. I think the app is unique and useful, but understand your privacy concerns and understand if you don't want to keep/download the app for that reason. Dave Boren - Nynix LLC (Developer of Knots 3D).

@rrussell: Sorry, I was just trying to TIE in a good joke.

They would have to twist my arm to get this, but a tangled mess of adware will not tie me to this Knotty app. I will not submit to the yoke of the developers! This nexus of junk, a veritable contortion of spying modules only serves to warp my view of the developer.

@davidschronic: Please, we all know you're just stringing us along.

It seems that the developer has tried to untangle the net of accusations. I will admit he's got me pretty well roped in...

@rrussell: haha, Sounds like you're about at the end of your rope!

@rrussell: That small piece of paper, it carries alot of weight.

These comments are pretty cheesy...String cheesy.

These are KNOT the droids you're looking for...

Who else was excited when they knew what knot was pictured on the app image???
