Deal isn't working...price is ove $3

vote-for5vote-against

It works, you just have to go to the check out screen and enter the coupon code "STEVEJOBS"

vote-for1vote-against

@agelessjen: Please use the coupon when it comes to checkout. There's a coupon input box under the Zip. Thanks.

vote-for2vote-against

I'm getting "Sorry, the coupon code you entered wasn't accepted." @suntekstore, are you already out of stock?

vote-for0vote-against

It accepted the coupon code for me, but wouldn't let me proceed to check out. Clicked the next step button, nothing happened.

vote-for3vote-against

Thanks Suntek, very thoughtful of you. Steve Jobs was a special man.

vote-for0vote-against

I got a funky floating error message (if I click on it I can grab it and move it all over my screen for some reason) that says the code was not accepted.

vote-for-1vote-against

@bubblesjc: Please try it again, I have expanded the expiring date.

vote-for-5vote-against

10,000 other people died today too.

vote-for0vote-against

@at0m: Please try it again. I just placed an order successfully. Thanks.

vote-for16vote-against

Why not just give them away? Even if its just a penny it's still capitalizing off of someone's death. It's not like proceeds are going to the Jobs family or anything.

vote-for1vote-against

10:35pm (Pacific/Westcoat) Working.

Make sure to use the code STEVEJOBS

@suntekstore: Thanks.

vote-for2vote-against

@eratosthenes: Please try it again, I have expanded the expiring date. Thanks.

vote-for5vote-against

@marsarito: Do you honestly think they're making money off of these at $.01? Maybe getting exposure...but who am I to say whether it's genuine or a ploy...either way, they're losing money selling these.

And at face value it's a decent thing to do...why read into it?

vote-for6vote-against

@marsarito: I tried. But woot doesn't accpet $0.00 stuff. Sorry.

vote-for5vote-against

@drchops: Thanks. We just want to do something to express our sincere condolences. He's a great man. Steve Jobs 1955-2011.

vote-for3vote-against

Another reason to hate Steve Jobs: He's making me purposely type in all-caps after his death!
argh :(

vote-for5vote-against

Just tried it and the coupon code did not work. Red box came up saying something about the code

vote-for1vote-against

You will be missed Steve, he was the reason I became a cs major. Well in for one.

vote-for1vote-against

Hmmm... it's not working for me! :-(

vote-for1vote-against

Ok and now it suddenly worked... mysterious.

edit: Well I got a payment confirmation from paypal but no order confirmation and I can't see it in my account so I have no idea if I actually got ordered it or not. Certainly paid for it though...

vote-for1vote-against

at first it wasn't working for me as well, i changed my region, retyped it a few times and it finally gave me a green check mark meaning it was accepted. maybe they extended the offer. Thanks, and RIP Mr. Jobs... You will be missed!

vote-for1vote-against

code worked in for 1 rip steve.

vote-for1vote-against

It still isnt working for me...?

vote-for1vote-against

dead code again. Oh well, RIP Steve Jobs, you change the world.

vote-for-5vote-against

Deal is expired. Thanks all for your support. Your admiration and recognition will be the best glory to Jobs.

vote-for-2vote-against

Your admiration and recognition to Steve as a person could change YOUR life, and that's what matters.

Not buying a candle.

vote-for3vote-against

People!!! They tried to do something nice and you did nothing but gripe and say negative things. Remember what Mom and Dad told you? "If you don't have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself!" To the wonderful people that said something nice, you will surely be blessed! To the negatives...Karma's a B!%@#.

vote-for3vote-against

Sorry I missed it.

RIP Steve Jobs, great man, passionate and brilliant.

vote-for-7vote-against

@bloodystinktube: but has each and every one of them changed the world like steve jobs did? didn't think so. As horrible as it sounds, there's a reason why he was remembered more than any of those other people that died today. Had the other people made significant contributions to the world, I'm sure they would have been remembered just as dearly by the world as steve jobs. Not saying that they weren't important to many other people, but even as a good human being, I can safely say that they didn't have as big of an impact on the world, as steve did.

vote-for4vote-against

@justintzou: Rest in peace, Steve Jobs. He was brilliant and ahead of his time. But I think the whole "changed the world" thing is overboard. I'm sure there are places in the world such as parts of Africa, South America and even the USA that aren't changed by the iphone, ipad or Mac. I've never used a Mac or Apple II and I'm not sure what his influence was on the IBM PC clones of the 80's that eventually morphed into Windows so I'm not sure how much he's touched me. With the great advances in technology, I don't think people will even remember what an iphone or ipad was in 100 years. Will people remember Thomas Edison for the lightbulb when everyone is using LED or CFL lights? Fortunately for him he had many more inventions that will stand the test of time. I mean, does anyone really think about Eli Whitney's cotton gin? And that had more of an influence on the world than an iphone. There are so many other things like medical advances that will influence our lives so much more.

vote-for-2vote-against

I do acknowledge that the iphone made the smartphone easier to use and brought its use to the masses, but there were phones that existed way before the iphone that could do all that, just not as easily or pretty. Obviously the iphone's adoption by developers ushered in great innovation in software available for smartphones, but this would have happened with the advancement of the technology, although probably not to the extent of what you have due to the iphone. Steve Jobs probably advanced the smartphone revolution a few years early on both the hardware and software side. But anyone who knows technology knows that a year or two is a lifetime... thus my statement above that I believe the iphone and ipad (and probably Mac and Windows) will be but paragraphs in a history book (or web page) in 100 years.

vote-for1vote-against

@justintzou: changed the world? lol... he came up with cool ideas, then paid other people to actually bring them to life. this messiah complex that people keep assigning to him never ceases to amaze me. he changed the way the world saw smartphones, sure, but he/apple also imposed his/their morals on every single person who buys an iphone or ipad.

regardless of my personal views, this is the same bull(mod edit: profanity) i saw back when dale sr drove into a wall. people crying, all butthurt about it. if you didn't know him personally, which i guarantee NONE of us did, his death doesn't affect you in any way at all. but not to worry, with the attention span of the typical american today, we'll have nonstop media coverage for about a week, then he'll be forgotten for the next big story (reality tv scandal probably.)

did anybody know betty ford died too? i'm sure a first lady of the united states had a pretty decent impact on people's lives as well. where's her candle?

vote-for3vote-against

@rkstevens and @bloodystinktube : Yes changed the world, the whole world, why because before the iPhone there were no such things as apps on your phone (none to easily install as they are today anyway). And how these apps have changed everything from doctors accessing medical libraries, to people donating to charities, to competing companies creating their own app system, to regular folks creating their own apps. Like it or not iPhone's changed the world even in place where there aren't iPhones. Granted as many have pointed out he didn't invent any of it but he came up with the idea or at least had the foresight to use his resources to make the idea come to fruition. I would think of him as the Leonardo da Vinci of our time only with the resources to make his ideas possible.

vote-for1vote-against

@marsarito How is it capitalizing? I'm guessing these cost more than 1 penny to make and ship. They're losing money on this.

vote-for-3vote-against

Looks like a PC did kill jobs, wait it looks like macs can get virius after all, new for your iphone the iDead, iSad, and iCompany is now just another faceless corp.

vote-for-2vote-against

I hate businesses that try to capitalize / market themselves around someone's death, prime example of what business is, a bunch of vultures waiting for the right carcass to ravage.

vote-for2vote-against

Nothing against this offer from Suntekstore but if you want to honor Steve Job's why not donate some money to cancer research. A candle won't find a solution or save lives.

vote-for-4vote-against

Seriously, wtf is wrong with this picture?! I dont care if it is one cent or one thousand dollars, when will people stop profiting from people's deaths?!

vote-for2vote-against

I doubt they are making a profit by selling these for a penny with free shipping. Shipping costs more than that! WHY NOT profit from his death? HE had no problem profiting off all you people (I've never bought an Apple product.) Plus, he never gave any money to charity. Say what you will about Microsoft and Bill Gates, but at least HE is a philanthropist. MY best friend died of pancreatic cancer 2 months after being diagnosed. No insurance = no treatment. Mr.Jobs lasted years with it. I guess money gets you something... and he can afford a nice coffin.

vote-for4vote-against

@marsarito:
@mwclose: Manufacturing and Shipping a piece of plastic and electronics for $.01 is not making profit. Stop being idiots.

Most online checkout systems, paypal included, do not accept a 0.00 charge.

vote-for-1vote-against

@gusvonpooch: Jobs never donated ANY money to charity. He can't take it with him. To paraphrase Kansas: "and all your money won't another minute buy."

Let's see the receipt for YOUR donation...

vote-for3vote-against

@marsarito: Yeah, 1 penny is definitely profiting off of this. Are you serious??

I work support for an undisclosed site that sells stuff, and our system won't allow us to sell something for $0.00 by itself, it'd have to either cost a penny or be "buy that, get this free."
