I think this is nothing unusual - in fact, trying to get it for a friend of mine I had to make up a fictitious company, job, income, and toss enough Blarney around to make me stop and wonder, "Is this a scam to get email addresses?"

So, I dumped it.

Is this a deal?

We'll see. I used my "junk" gmail account and a unique fake name/address. Chose no other magazines. I should be able to determine if they were harvesting. Meanwhile, if the digital issues do arrive, I can have them auto sent to another account.

Interestingly, I chose a fabricated variation on my real occupation but the two business magazines they offered me had nothing to do with it.
