It definitely comes with a battery and a charger, this is the best deal for this piece out there. I ordered two when i found it this morning, the batteries are interchangeable with the other ryobi pieces i have and for that prices you are so right, the batteries cost more alone.

I ordered via the online order phone number 1-800-466-3337 about ten minutes ago. Talked to a representative. Gave all my information and the order went through. Might have lucked out. Suggest maybe trying to order over the phone?
Hope I don't get an email saying it is sold out!

If the link doesn't work just go to pricegrabber and put in the product name, it says it is $59 but click the link and it has the sell price there.

For those who missed this item, don't be sad, they bombed during the holiday season and they're trying like hell to clear out what inventory they have left. The 12v battery just isn't enough do drive anything besides a small finish nail.
