if anyone is interested in lower prices and quality the DVDs are also on sale here for 39.99 with FSSS

Doubt blu-ray will look much better than DVD (that I have). The show was filmed in standard def, with the first two seasons in 4:3 an the last two in widescreen. I read elsewhere that the blu-ray is made from the PAL cut because PAL (576i) has a slightly higher resolution compared to NTSC (480i). Special effect shots are still standard def and you can tell the difference when watching it.

I just got into this show last year. Makes me sad I missed it during it's prime.

I as mad that this show got Firefly'ed out of existence (even had the quintessential extended move to act as the last season aftter the cliff-hanger before).

@jupiterssj4: You are correct. The Blu-ray video is just an upconvert. The audio, however is much better than what's on the DVD.

@necrom23: Um... "Firefly'd"? The whole fan frenzy induced attention that resulted in a movie wrapping up the series happened with Farscape a year before it happened with Firefly - and I'm sure glad it did. I love both series. :)

@glabifrons: Umm.. same thing happened with Firefly (another series the network cancelled not caring about the fan base). And they also made a movie called Serenity to wrap up the series. Firefly came later, but was more well-known for this sort of thing by the main-stream.

The entire series can be streamed for free if you have amazon prime instant video. The Peacekeeper wars movie is $9.99. I suggest getting this Bluray set though! It has amazing bonus features including the special "FarScape Undressed" <3 -FarScape FanGirl.
