KitchenAid Artisan Design Stand Mixer (Factory Refurbished) for $179.99 + free shipping
I didn’t say a word when you named this thing “Sir Mix-A-Lot.” But your rendition of “Baby Got Hot Cross Buns” is too much, even for me.
Is this any good? The wife wants a stand mixer - I don't even know what you use one for.
I've had the 300W for 15 years. Great machines. Never bought one refurbished -- you might want to look closely into the warranty.
anyone tried one of the refurbs?
Look into Square Deal - I know they do warranties for ebay'ed electronic items, so they may cover this too.
Brand new you get a 1 year warranty. Refurbs get a 6 month warranty. I believe these are total replacement warranties too.
Even though its on Ebay it from KitchenAid direct and it looks like there is an additional $30 rebate on the half way down the page on the right.
I bought a refurbished Artisan directly from Kitchen Aid. Love it! No scratches, no problems, looked new. The only difference is that it does not have a lid to cover the bowl. No biggie - bought one on Amazon. I use it for mixing, but also bought parts for pasta, slicing dicing, grinder, juicer. Love them all!
@tp546: yes, see my comment
This is a fantastic price for these workhorse machines. As long as the warranty is comprehensive this is a great deal, especially for many of the odd colors which are usually $300-$350 minimum when new.
@webvamp: It appears that the rebate is not good for this offer. Within the text of the PDF it states:
NOTE: Not valid at Bed Bath Beyond, Lowe's, and Macy's stores, Whirlpool Corporations, VIPLink Program or Employee Purchase Program or online auction sites.
Even though it's sold directly through KitchenAid, it's still sold through eBay, so I would assume it's included in the note.
My sister purchased a refurb directly from their site. She's had it a couple of years now and it runs perfectly. I may need to pick this one up for my early Christmas present! :)
@addixon: It's arguable. The intent of the rebate disclaimer is to exclude non-retail second-sale items, like a mixer that a consumer bought six months which they're reselling on eBay. But this is a fixed-price listing posted by Whirlpool using eBay as a sales channel. eBay also considers themselves an 'online marketplace' not an 'online auction site'. Maybe they'll honor the rebate, maybe not.
My mom has wanted one of these for over a decade. It's time she gets one.
This is a good deal ... getting the same refurbished off of the site that's selling on Ebay (shopkitchenaid.com) is $229. Refurbished 5 qt on Amazon is also $229. If you want this same mixer brand new, Overstock has it still under Black Friday for $302.28.
@tp546: I have had a refurbished 4.5 quart mixer for nine years and have had no problems.
Well crap. I had planned on buying one of these all day. Came in, figuring I still had 20 minutes or so before midnight, and "the listing has ended".
Would be nice if Woot's sponsored deals could end at midnight CST or later.
And to add insult to injury, the kitchenaid store has the same thing, new listing, for $90 higher.
Right, like I'm going to give them my business now.
I managed to pick one of these up on Ebay. I got an email yesterday that they had sold out of the color I picked so they are sending me a brand new one. GREAT DEAL!!!
