Kingsford 20 lb. Charcoal Briquettes (2-Pack)
CVS in western PA is running 75% off of all summer. I scored a bag for $2. Of course in-store only and selection will vary by location.
@britanyowens: you are a tool
Great deal! This is also available am some Lowes too.
this is a really good deal. ill have to go by tomorrow for this. ive been trying to give lump coal a try and ive gone through about 60# so far but i think im gonna go back to briqettes
@superspec: I started to smoke with the lump coal, I found that I wasted way too much fuel, plus it's more expensive, like you I went back to briquettes and this is a great deal.
A little off topic, but if you want the lump charcoal flavor with briquette convenience, try the Trader Joe's charcoal if you have one in your area, it doesn't have any of the additives a lot of other briquettes have
I prefer lump for grilling because it burns hotter and quicker, which is better for things like grilling steaks that just need 10-12 minutes of fairly high heat. Burgers and Chicken are other great uses for lump. I use lump for smoking too but can definitely see why someone would prefer the longer, cooler burn of briquets for a smoke. I can usually do a six hour smoke at 250 with half a bag of Royal Oak. If I'm going to use briquets I like Stubb's, which is the same idea as Trader Joe's. No clay or other non burning additives. Stubb's and Trader Joe's are just natural wood with a natural, vegetable based, adhesive to hold them in briquet shape.
Great Christmas stocking stuffers!
Anybody else think that Kingsford's "new and improved" shape actually sucks and is inferior to their old shape? I guess you can figure out which side of the argument I come down on.
This deal is not making me "cream my pants"....
These are the (mod edit: profanity) coals that require a (mod edit: profanity) load of fluid...
