The ES.2 range had a lot of the issues the similar 7200.11 generation had. I got a new 1TB 7200.12 for this price a year or so ago (just as they were being discontinued). Still works, but will slow to a crawl after large writes. SeaTools still informs me it's functioning as it should, so not returnable, but other SMART software won't even read the drive.

Why aren't hard drives getting cheaper. I bought a TB HDD for this price two years ago. Is the flooding in Taiwan still the cause?
