How is it different from the Amazon Basics one? Why is Amazon Basics so expensive?

This cable is not manufactured by Apple, thus is cheaper. However, it is NOT reversible, likely part of a contract that allows other companies to manufacture these at a cheaper cost. Only Apple brand lightning cables are reversible.

I purchased a camera kit (same company) and it worked, but it is really cheaply made, and it shows. I opted for the Amazon Basics, since I have Prime. With the shipping, it's not much more than this one. I read the reviews on this, and it looks sketchy: Only fits in one way (not like the Apple's which is reversible), takes weeks to months to ship?, thinner than the Apple adapter, shorter than the Apple adapter. With a $700.00 phone, I don't think I'll stick anything in it that isn't reviewed better.

@k87: Read the reviews of both. It looks like this one doesn't fit very well, is not reversible, and the Amazon one is spot on with the Apple's.

Check out the amazon pictures. This is one sketchy cable. As segreto commented is your $700 phone worth a $2.50 knock off cable? Price = good, irreversible damage to phone = bad.

Look, I have one of just about every knock off cable out there with a lightning connector. They all work, no damage to my iphone. It's a $3 knockoff cable from china that charges your phone. Everyone calm down.

@commodog: It's a little different from the other knockoff cables and the camera adapter for iPhones. This one does not fit correctly and is not reversible. Though I have not heard of anyone posting that this has hurt their phone, I would not want to be the first. I have had too many usb ports damaged from students jamming in the adapter the wrong way, and this looks like it could suffer from the same.

eh i used my amex incase i dont like it. I ordered 7 since i keep chargers all over ....3 in house ...office ...car backup wall adapter in car glove box suite case etc. I got tons of ac adapers.... now running iphone 5 and retina ipad
