It's very poor quality, but worth it at this price for a weekend camping trip. It'll never fold up and fit back in the bag or box anyway, and at this price you can just throw it away instead of trying to clean and re-pack it for another once-a-year camping trip.

If you're going to buy a cheap tent, do yourself a favor and buy a Coleman. Not much more money but very heavy duty - will last years, and will likely be sturdy in the wind, as opposed to this thing.

Also, buy one with a square/rectangular shaped footprint for more "room" versus one that is round-ish.

Beyond price, how does one determine how well a tent is made? is rock creek known to be a poor brand? Do you guys have experience with this tent?

I mean its amazing the price spread between small backing style tents..they go from something like this for $30-$40 all the way up to $300-$400...it just seems rediculous to me to for the average camper to pay $400 for a 2-4 person tent...the average camper isn't going to be camping in Antarctica or the the deserts of death valley...I mean most camping trips i've planned have even been setup to avoid Rain if possible
