My weenie dog thanks you for your post.

I'm always in for free treats for my pup! Although sometimes I swear he eats better than I do...

Ingredients - Cupcake: Whole wheat flour, oat flour, vegetable oil, honey, organic strawberries, eggs, margarine, vanilla, baking powder, vitamin C. Icing: Cream cheese, fat-free probiotic yogurt, organic strawberries, canola oil, honey, salt.

...so what makes these cupcakes particularly for dogs, other than replacing chocolate with carob in certain recipes?

Today I learned that some people buy "gourmet cupcakes" for their dog.

Nothing wrong with getting them free though...

@lotsofgoats: I'm sure you could eat them as well if you'd like. Look pretty tasty actually.

vote-for7vote-against

@lotsofgoats: Dogs don't care if they go stale during delivery.

vote-for3vote-against

Hmm... I feel like most people wouldn't care about stale cupcakes, provided that they're free.

Anyway, upvoted for free-ness. Still think they're people cupcakes.

Considering my dog will eat just about anything... I am pretty sure this baker can make a horrible cup cake, and he will still love it...

They look yummy, anyway! I'm sure after shipping, they taste like something only a dog would love.

Well, since corn and wheat are two of the biggest causes/triggers of canine food allergies, I'll have to pass on these. Offer me a dog treat that avoids the major allergens and I'm all over it.

Although free, these aren't very good for your dogs, grains are not good for them, they need meat and some small amounts of veggie type stuff, and sugar makes 'em fat just like us...

vote-for5vote-against

@lotsofgoats: Idk, but when I get mine I'm eating one and my dog gets the other.

I signed up for this last time it was up and never got anything:

[edit] I was just looking at the info page with the cupcakes on it and two things come to mind:
1) That brown cupcake looks like dog poop
2) Could they even ship a cupcake successfully? I can't even get a letter from point A to point B without getting destroyed lol (I know they CAN, I'd just be curious to see how it's done)

@lotsofgoats: Most premium or gourmet dog foods and treats are kinda good-sounding. These are the primary ingredients in my dog's grain-free food, plus a long list of vitamins and nutrients and no junk at all: Salmon, ocean fish meal, sweet potatoes, potatoes, canola oil, salmon meal, smoked salmon. I don't know if he eats better than me, but he certainly eats healthier.

I'm sure my little pup will be more then happy to taste test this for me.

@moondrake: Right, but that's got a protein-heavy recipe. I guess I was expecting meatcakes of some kind, not just rebranded cupcakes.

Again, still free.

@drchops: I never received the biscuits either...

vote-for1vote-against

@drchops: You are still in the 2-4 week shipping time frame.

@lotsofgoats: Sounds like good dog food. I quess the question is, what is "Salmon". Often these places grind up 100% of the salmon --- bone, eyes, brain, body, tail,... everything and call it "Salmon". That is, technically, true, but certainly less appealing than what you get when you buy 'salmon' in a store.

vote-for2vote-against

@hayedid: I like hot dogs, so I am not all that worried about it. As long as what they are calling "salmon" is all healthy and nutritious, I am good with it. I'd imagine bones, brains and eyeballs are pretty nutritious. They probably don't use the entire fish, though, as some of the internal organs of arctic circle predators are dangerous to consume. Unless they are using only farm raised salmon, which is a possibility.

My dog just baked a brownie a few minutes ago.

@moondrake: TOTW just had a big recall. My local feed shop won't sell me any more until they get things straightened out. I decided to switch my dogs to Evo. Even less fillers and smells better than TOTW.
