I would have rather have gotten the 16GB but I pulled the trigger. Can always eBay it for more if I don't like it! :)
Just noticed this. Environmental Requirements:
Altitude (unpressurized):
■Operating - 0 to 5,000 ft (0 to 1,524 m)
■Non-operating - 0 to 40,000 ft (0 to 12,192 m)
So will these not work in say Denver, on a hot day when your density altitude is more like 9000ft.?
Bought one of these the last time it was offered.
Marginally happy. I actually like the WebOS interface. Trouble is that a lot of the applications are half-baked and starting to fall apart (e.g. Kindle and Facebook apps are broken). No Netflix and will never happen. So limited utility in this mode.
You can go with Android (Cyanogen) and everything mostly works. Mostly.
So it's about $219 worth of tablet. But I wouldn't jump at it.
I got a floor model for my birthday last year and you couldn't register it because it was hard-wired with a fake generic account so I had to mod it with Cyanogen. I'm pretty happy and Netflix runs great with the mod. Some apps don't work but there's always an alternative for the important ones...
Sold out. Better luck next time?
just bought mine. I love it, specially the touchstone charger.
Put android 4.0 on it and you have a great tablet!
@ruger9mm: That means it is fine up to 40,000 if you aren't operating it (transporting in an unpressurized cargo hold, for example).
@jamessir: ... so someone gave you a stolen tablet for your birthday? No device that's sold legitimately would be running the demo software.
I am glad I didn't see this nor impulse buy it in time. I am waiting for the $200 quad-core Asus!!!
awesome tablet esp if you can get 32gb for $200 or less. Dual booting with webOS and ICS. Currently only one other tablet running ICS. Still has a future with openOS which should be avail at end of summer.
It didn't get better with age. Remember all the cool things it did in the ads? You can't do most of them.
I'm about to take mine apart and hack it. The first thing will be to make a swivel mount for the camera- it faces forward; the second will be to standardize the USB port. I also may check the memory- if it can go from 16 to 32, why not ... 64? Or 128?
ANYway, for the price it'd be an OK deal as long as you were aware of it's limitations and can live with it. I do like having one, I just want to do more.
