So why do they call it the "Fridge" pack?

Do you keep this fresh so kids can eat it?

vote-for19vote-against

@cengland0: It must be so it doesn't dry out. If it dries out: 1) Knead for approximately 4 mins. 2) Make a mixture of 1 part veggie oil and 1 part water. 3) Place playdoh back into container. 4) Push the playdoh all of the way down into the conatainer. 5) Make 3 little ravines in the playdoh with your fingers. 6) Pour about 1 t. of the oil and water mix into the container with the play doh. 7) DO NOT mold the oil+ water in with the playdoh. 8) let sit for about 30 hours in a 65-80 degree climate. 9) After 30 or so hours it should be soft, squishy and ready to play with.

@misterron: Then that brings up a good question. How do I know it will not already be dried out when I receive it? How long has it been on the shelf prior to purchase? Do they have an expiration date?

Why doesn't the container it comes with be sealed enough to keep the moisture inside. If that's a standard issue, you'd think they would have fixed that by now.

@cengland0: I don't know. If I were you I'd talk to the manufacturer about your concerns. Besides, it's Play-Doh, and it can always be re-moisturized.

It's called a fridge pack because it is packed like a twelve pack of soda fridge pack.

Admittedly it's been awhile since I bought Play-Doh, but unless they changed the containers they're airtight and I don't think they'll ever lose their moisture if left in the sealed can. Of course, in the unlikely event you get a can with a hole in it or something you can always re-moisturise it using the steps mentioned above.

@cengland0: I don't think I've ever bought Play-Doh branded and had a problem. Dollar store knock offs, yes.

Picked up two from the store, same price as the online one. Thank you for the post.

Seems out Online, but every store in Georgia seems to have it in stock. Just that getting out, dealing with the crowd, gas, etc. these would cost me over a hundred bucks! Ok, that's an exaggeration...

My store has it online but Target doesn't price match their website. I had 2 things I asked them to price match with their own site for Christmas and they told me to go F myself. I'd assume that this is $3800 at my own store.

If you're still looking for toys for the kids, it may be worth it to go to the store. There are a lot of toys on clearance at 30% to 70% off.

@fivemtz: Dude, Target has always price matched the site for me. It is same thing as Best Buy does, regional pricing, but the site is single pricing. Just gotta tell them. Never had anyone at Target tell me no. Maybe ask to speak to the manager, escalate it and "waste their time" until it gets done :-)

vote-for6vote-against

@fivemtz: The store price is actually $7.49 you do not need to price match anything. the price listed in store under the item is $14.99 but if you check the box with the price scanner it will actually shows the new price of $7.49 & it will ring $7.49 at the cashier.

I had some play dough for years. After 5 years it starts crystalizing ^^.

Dang it! I just bought some of this stuff at my local Target for $14.97. (gritting teeth)

Does anyone know if this is the edible kind?

vote-for4vote-against

Sounds like a good lot of stocking stuffers for everyone!

We got this from Amazon on sale for around this price. I would note that these are smaller containers than the normal ones you might expect. Still a great deal.

The preschoolers love this stuff. I like that it doesn't stain and that it isn't too bad to clean out of the carpet/hair/tables/toys/whatever.

Good deal for the price. I've found the more colors of something the better for most kids.

@emerson42: This is incorrect.. I picked one up from the local store and its the regular size container.

Now I have enough Play-Doh to make a girlfriend!

@llabra: Yeah, looking at ours, its a Mega Pack, which is 36 different colors.
