Schwinn GPS Heart Rate Monitor for $72.99 + $5.00 shipping
I follow my heart. Literally. My heart gives me directions via Morse code hidden in its beats, and I follow them.

This would have been the droid you are looking for... http://www.amazon.com/Schwinn-Tracking-Heart-Rate-Monitor/dp/B006JPBALS/
I went ahead and removed the post linking to the incorrect product to avoid confusion.
not mac compatible? what.. did we transport back to 2003?
anyone have this? would you recommend?
Was interested - but 3 reviews and two of them say the HRM is crap? No thanks.
Got one a month or two ago in a Woot-off It actually works pretty well. The watch seems to be rugged enough to survive the gym and the chest band is a nice addition. All in all I'm happy with it, and have no complaints.
I don't get it. So, if I wear this, it will just constantly tell me that my heart rate is 72 bpm and my ass is still on the couch? How is that different from what my wife is always telling me?
I bought one on the last sale, I think I paid $69 for mine. I am happy with it. The thing works great for tracking runs and bike rides. You just upload it to mapmyrun or google and it will show you where you have been. Very accurate too for something so small.
I own one. I use it in the gym and the chest strap is compatible with gear that works with Polar heartrate monitors. I'd almost say it's not PC compatible either though. The software is terrible. The watch is REALLY made for outdoor runners where you get the best feature set. As soon as you stay indoors, you have to hit the lap button manually while your working out if you want to distinguish between different parts of your workout. However, it has been reliable so I can't complain too much.
If you are having trouble getting an accurate heart rate reading using an HRM with a chest strap, try using Aloe Gel on the contacts instead of relying on sweat or saliva. You can get a big tube for cheap at CVS.
This is an awesome deal for cyclists, joggers, and runners. Overkill for a simple heart rate monitor for the gym in my opinion.
I would be in for one, but I can't do the chest strap. I've got an indented sternum, so it just doesn't sit comfortably. I just recently tried one that wasn't as fancy, but the strap looks identical.
It's a shame, but I can't really expect the major market to accommodate for a relatively infrequent condition (relative to the general population that is)
same device without the strap (you press with two fingers on the watch) sold for $9.95 on 1saleaday last week.
@plrikard: Are you SURE it was the same one? Yes, HRM watches sell cheap, but HRM + GPS? Often well over $100, and $300+ for ones that are actually worth while.
I'm not sure how this would rank up against a Garmin Forerunner but I'm tempted to check it out simply for it being affordable.
Also got one earlier. I have 2 Garmin Forerunner's, and this one is comparable--at a much lower cost. The heart rate monitor worked great, and software was also easy to use--gps also worked great. One advantage over the Forerunner is its water depth rating is much higher--So this one has some features the Forerunner does not-- It is just not advertised as much...
This is the 3rd time I've really considered buying this but, I can not find out if the pace is current pace or average average. I only need this watch for distance, pace, and time. If it does an average pace and not an immediate current pace it's pretty much useless to me. If anyone that has it could let me know I'd very much appreciate it.
Can you turn off the GPS and still get your heart rate and calories? I bought one and used it outdoors it was great but when circuit training at home I couldn't turn the GPS off and then the calories and heart rate weren't accurate without the GPS on and the while being stationary the GPS sucks.
@thedogma: Pectis excavatum? My daughter has this, too. Makes it tough to get a good fit in prom dresses, too. (Sorry for the off-topic comment. I rarely see anyone else mention this and I hadn't thought about fitting this product until I saw your post.)
Does thing also calculate your calorie burn?
I bought one of these from woot under the Pro-Form name brand. It's Polar compatible so it works with most of the stuff at my gym. It's fairly accurate, but not great and I think I paid like $20 for it...
Look around before buying...read reviews...etc.

I just got mine and have been playing around for about an hour with drivers and such trying to get it to charge and turn on, but nothing seems to be working yet. I'm usually pretty good with this stuff and haven't found much out there about this happening to anyone else. Any suggestions from you good folks before I try to return it or start looking into warranty options?
I received my unit yesterday and have been having a blast. The included software is pathetic and did not work on the two Windows XP machines that I tried. However, the RedClover software at this URL:
http://redcloverwatches.com/support.php
works just fine.
I'm using the software under a VirtualBox XP machine under Slackware Linux without any major issues. For anyone that is interested, I had to edit the desktop/menu shortcut to point to the program directly:
"C:\Program Files\Redclover Training Center\Redclover Training Center.exe"
before the program would work. I also changed the "Start in:" to match the above base file location.
The only flaw that I have found with the unit is that the speed displayed during a test drive/walk showed me moving far faster than normal (+100 MPH!) This may have something to do with the fact that I did not disable the tracking function overnight. However, this is not a deal-killer for my purposes.
Overall, I am pleased with this unit.
I have cracked the GPS data and have access to entire database including heart rate info! I'm hoping someone is still paying attention to this discussion who knows perl or another language that can easily write data into a text file. It should be quite simple since I can get the Heart rate data into CSV or Access without too much effort.
We just need to merge the Heart rate data into the GPX file and then we can use the GPX file with almost any gps software or online application.
Hit me up gpscrack@byu.net and we can figure it out. Thanks.
