I recommend the Old Fashioned oats as opposed to the instant oats. It doesn't take that much longer to cook them in the microwave and they are actually healthier for you. Add in a little frozen fruit before microwaving or fresh fruit after.

@theotherpenrod: What makes them healthier? The only difference between old fashioned oats and instant oats is that the instant oats are cut more finely, allowing them to absorb water faster. As I understand it, there's no nutritional difference at all.

Thanks! Eating oatmeal as we speak. I like the old fashioned kind because I cook them the old fashioned way, in a pot on the stove. I cook them lightly as I like the texture, and the instant ones get mushy way too fast.
