This is a really good deal, and someday I'll get one!

$400? WHY?! For the ball so you can corner easier while vacuuming? This isn't Nascar. How bout you buy the best economy vacuum out there for UNDER $140 (http://www.consumersearch.com/vacuum-cleaners/eureka-boss-smartvac-4870mz) and with the extra money hire a maid to vacuum your house for an hour($10/hr) every other week for a full year?

Or how bout with the money you saved, buy an xbox 360($200) and Need for Speed: Shift ($50) to get your thrill from quick cornering.

I don't have this particular dyson model, but I do have a dyson. My wife and I love it. She gave me the same WHY speech when I bought the first vacuum. Within a year I HAD to buy her another one to use at her preschool because the traditional bagged and bagless vacuums just couldn't match the performance.

I started this thread here (http://deals.woot.com/questions/details/24e3bea3-fa2e-4ba5-b677-2cd38a5cf8c9/dyson-vacuum-worth-the-hype-and-price) and got around 50 people to respond with their fellings on dyson.

Overall the census was that Dysons were better. Maybe not as good as TOP brands like Meila but they START at ~$900 so...

I am still living abroad and wanted to try the ball out in person so I am waiting on this. $40 cheeper than amazon is a fair amount but i want to make sure this one is for me so i am not going to buy today. Sorry ABC Vac.

Also... If you buy a cheeper one and pay someone to do it at $10 a week thats $520 a year. Assuming that your $140 one will last 5 years (this Dyson comes with a 5 year warranty) thats a total cost of $140 + 520 x 5 = $2840. Then again doing it yourself is always cheeper.

I got the Dyson DC25 Limited on Woot a couple of months ago for $279 and I've not regretted it since. Its peformance is incredible compared to our old bag vacuum. I wasn't totally convinced until I saw it for myself.

A few years ago we decided to buy a dyson. We went through the house and vacuumed the entire thing with our old vacuum three times using up all the old bags. When we got home and vacuumed JUST the living room, we had to empty the canister four times from all the crap that our old 150 dollar vacuum left behind. We were just in AWE. We will never get anything but a dyson from now on.

When I upgraded to a dyson from my old standard vacuum, I knew I would never turn back! I have the older model dyson, but it still works like a champ! It is also much quieter than my old bagged vacuum. I would suggest these to everyone. It works great on my carpet and hardwood! I also love all the attachments; great for cleaning car and etc.

We had a dyson but we ended up selling it on CL and getting an Oreck. Dyson doesn't lose suction, but the Oreck is stronger IF you keep changing the bags when you need to.
