My camera suggests 16gb Class 6, would using a higher class conflict with the camera's video capabilities? Or is faster the better regardless.

@jmgra: So the class of an SD card delineates the minimum speed you can continuously operate on it. So you can expect that a class 6 card will give you 6 MB per second continous write speed (I think it's Megabytes, but you may want to check on that).

So your camera is suggesting that the SD card handle at least 6MBps continuous writes. A class 10 means 10 MBps, so the camera should have no complaints!

@jmgra: As mentioned, your camera should have no problem with a class 10, however if it is only rated for 16gb, there are no guarantees it will work beyond that. It may allow you to use the whole 32gb, it may only recognize up to 16gb of your 32gb card, or it may reject it altogether. This being information parroted from other comments I've read on such matters. I'm not an expert in these matters.

@jmgra: Read the reviews on newegg first! One person tested the speed and this is NOT a class 10 card, and is comparable to a Sandisk class 4!

I was going to get one of these for our HS-10 until I read that.

@reginafilangee: Check your order... these codes almost always only work for 1 item. The 2nd will be full charge.

Well, I never thought a higher class card would hinder performance but it can in some devices apparently. My Canon HF S10 and HF10 camcorders are a few years old so at the time only class 6 were the fastest cards at the time. Canon forces the camcorder to recognize the speed of the card, so if I put a class 10 in it, it doesn't recognize the speed of the card and only allows me to record at slower speeds. There is a fix for it, but I"d have to send my camcorders in... so not really worth it. Anyway, it "could" matter then. As for coupons, create a few accounts... I now I have a few with Newegg.

@glabifrons: Thanks, but I had specifically already looked for that before submitting it. The code gave me 20% off the total; still no shipping. It was $38.38 for 2. Coupon discount line showed $9-something. There was a limit of 5 per customer, and I'm pretty sure I could have gotten 20% off across the board even if I'd ordered all 5. Didn't need that many, though, as I only have 1 device that can use this specific card, as yohams mentions. (I would also caution everyone to verify device compatibility before ordering, or this might not be that good of a deal for some.)
