I am not sure why this is getting down voted?

This is the new, just released Nook Tablet, not a Color Nook or Simple Touch. It does include web browsing and media play, but it's strength is its use as an e-Reader. Many books and magazines really display better than similar offerings on the Kindle.

It is comparable to the Kindle Fire, but they do have differences in the UI, screen and features. The Nook Tablet uses Android 2.3, but modified to enhance reading features.

Read the reviews to understand why it is better. Well worth the price difference.

It's not technically a 'deal', as it's normal price. shrug I didn't downvote it but it's not really helpful to have it here.

Based on the comments I gathered, most people don't see the $25 off as a deal. The fact that it is only available through B&N limits any price pressure so it is not likely to change much. This will expire and I'll watch for future changes.

For those looking, I'll try to post some links to useful reviews.

Here is an Ars Technica story explaining why the Nook Tablet may be better than the Fire.

And here is a competitive teardown as they disassemble and compare the internal features of a Nook Tablet vs a Kindle Fire.

My guess is that's getting down voted for one of two reasons:

1. it's really not that much of a deal
2. people don't realize there's a difference between the Nook Color and the Nook Tablet, and vote it down because the Nook Tablet listing is more expensive than Nook Color listings on the same page.

Or maybe they just hate B&N.

It's being downvoted because $250 is regular price, it'd be like posting the Kindle Fire as a deal @ $199.

@haloman800: Thanks but you made a mistake. If you read the text you'll see the price is $224 after the discount. That's why I posted it as a "deal", above and beyond calling out why it was a better product.
