Roku 2 HD Wireless Media Player for $45 + free shipping
Roku 2 HD Wireless HD Media Player for $45 after applying coupon code mPkgError1 at checkout. Originally 59.99.
Where do you enter the coupon code? Went all the way through up until checkout finish, didn't see anything.
@jrizzle08: This link should automatically add it with discount:
This is a scam! Not only is it still $59.99 but it also tries to add an HDMI cable for $9.99 and who knows how much shipping will be!
@stevec5000: Not a scam. It worked earlier but seems dead now.
Note that the 2HD only comes in 720p. If that's a deal breaker, you can pick up an XD for just another $5-$10.
@dondove: Don't believe it. Where's the proof it worked?
@stevec5000: I had one in my cart with 25% discount. I decided not to pull the trigger. Even though these things are cool, I just don't need one.
No longer valid.
got mine through woot
cant wait for it :)
Just hooked the Roku up. Impressive little device. Easy set up, nice features. I think I like it better than my appletv. However streaming from my mac or ipad is a pretty nice feature of the appletv. That aside, I really like the Roku.
I love Roku...I have two and got one for my step dad for Christmas. They are awesome little devices...
@stevec5000: Uh, you can EASILY remove the cord by just clicking the box, or by clicking "no thanks" It's not that difficult if you know how to read even a little bit.
@stevec5000: Also, before you pay you realize...shipping is free...or other options are available for faster shipping...
I bought one of these last week (when they were 20% off) We only VERY Recently (like within the past month) Signed up for cable but I use the Roku much more than I watch cable. I'm perfectly happy. Inexpensive and it has lots to float your boat!
@stevec5000: Can you read? The cord is optional. Also, the website is covered with "FREE SHIPPING" banners. Roku's a well-known company, they're not going to scam you.
Also, it's true that the deal doesn't seem to work anymore.
I can't even find a place to enter the coupon code.
I'm a little pissed I didn't see this, since I just bought one a few hours ago for a gift.
"Coupon code "mPkgError1" is not valid."
DEAD
It's members-only, but my local Costco had the XS in a package with an HDMI cable for $79.99, IIRC. That's $20 cheaper than the Roku website and includes the cable.
How much do any of the Roku's give you if you already have a PS3? PS3 has at least netflix and Hulu+.
@mikecris: Do you mean the previous version of the Roku XD? The regular price difference is $20, let alone the discount that was available for the HD.
@craig234: If you go to the Roku website, you can see that Roku has quite a few good channels. However, the real power in Roku is that they make development kits available and people make their own private channels. For example, Roku stopped supporting PlayOn, but I was still able to use PlayOn because someone made a PlayOn channel.
I bought 2 of these about a month ago, the total bill for the 2 was less than $85 free shipping- they were really great to work with, got the package really quick- the device is easy to set up, found some better channels by searching online- the 2nd device is going to be a present for my son's tv...
Any of you with a ps3 or xbox should not buy this. ps3 has better capabilities. Just saying.
@bruschiontap: I have a PS3 downstairs with my HD set, but often I want to watch in my den upstairs with my old 24" next to me while I'm on my desktop. The Roku XS box is perfect for this. I stream TV shows and from my computer with Plex, which is the best media server I've seen. Unfortunately when I stream HD movies to my PS3 Plex isn't compatible so I have to use PS3 Media Server. A PS3 and Roku both do their duty for me.
Tried to apply the coupon code to no avail, order went through at 59.99 and Roku refuses to honor the coupon code
