@superspec: It's more noticeable too with crown molding around the top and a tall dresser below the TV.

I'm a new homeowner and DIY-er, so I'm learning the quirks of my place as I do improvements - I'd loved to have known to just be aware of possible wall slope/imperfections and wanted to put the potential problem on people's radars.

Probably the closer you mount the TV to anything that gives a visual horizontal or vertical reference, the more you want to consider the TV's position in relationship to those elements.

Also, a well-crafted house can and will settle, so it's a matter of time for almost all walls :)

@dakattack: oh no i understand something that has a very distinct slope but the way she made it out to sound it was a very minimal drop that wasnt noticed until a level plain was put on the wall. that just poor craftsmanship on the builder. a 1" difference a normal person wouldnt see over a 12' span even with a level tv.

Bought one a few weeks ago. Solidly made. Holds my 55 incher securely.

@superspec: It's actually very common to live in odd shaped rooms or houses, with uneven walls or a sloping roof. We can't all have the perfect room.

Be careful ordering this. I just placed an order and it failed, but paypal took the money. Will update if it gets resolved.

@designgrrl: i dont think that is a very common problem.

This is a good, sturdy wall mount. Bought it on a daily deal on eBay a few months ago but just installed it last week.

Just a note on installing this and any TV mount really: the instructions on all these say to make sure to use a bubble level to make sure that the mount is level... but I found in my older place, when I did that, my TV looked crooked, because of the ceiling/floor not being totally level. So I had to "level" it by measuring the distance from the ceiling to the left and right corners of the mount to make sure that distance was the same. Then, when I re-hung the TV for the 3rd time, it actually looked straight!

If this is similar to Monoprice mounts, the anchors for block or brick are worthless. I have used blue screws (ask the hardware guy) with much success.

I also own this mount. Bought for same price and definitely a great deal. It holds my 47" snugly to wall. It looks overwhelming, but just follow the directions (strange but accurate) and you can get it done. The hardest part was getting the middle frame together before you even get near the wall.

After installing, the fit is so snug that you actually have to hold the tv out from the wall at the bottom to tighten the safety screws that hold it on the rack.

That tv isn't going anywhere unless the entire unit rips out of the wall.

I've purchased this deal previously. It holds my 42'' TV securely to the wall, it came with several different options of hardware to mount to the wall alas I bought extra heavy duty anchors as the walls I put it into are quite old.
