This is probably some of the greatest story telling you can get in graphic form for this money. I don't think anyone even remotely interested before purchase would regret it afterwards.

I purchased this graphic novel at the sincere insistence of a friend. I don't like graphic novels in general and he knows this, but he swore this one was different. It's not. If you don't like graphic novels or you are on the fence about this one, follow your instinct and do not buy it.

Who downvotes an opinion? Sheesh.

Is it better then the movie?

@rrussell: i'm going to go out on a limb and suggest... people with an opposing opinion?

@zeolite: That's a highly subjective question, and any answer is just going to reflect the tastes and preferences of the person answering. Why don't you read the book and decide for yourself which one is "better" (if that even means anything)?

Had I not first read the graphic novel, I would have found the movie tedious to the point of boring. The novel, in contrast, nearly brought me to tears in places. It's an incredible piece of writing and rightfully deserves the critical praise it has received.

Bottom line: book > movie.

@zeolite: Yes it's better than the movie.
A lot of people hated on the movie for some reason. I thought Zack did a very good job bringing it over to the screen. They changed the ending in the movie because they felt people wouldn't get the actual novel ending.
