Q. How many knives does it take to change a light bulb?
A. About 5. Don't ask why, its just a stab in the dark.
$22.00 for a set of "Professional" knives? Something seems wrong with that idea.
@kevskoolkars: But they are $100 originally; that's got to mean something!
@kdog98: It means they are still sharper than me! lol
Deal is dead :(
First, they're not worth $100, they're Farberware.
Second, I have this set and I love it. Have had it for at least 6 years, maybe more. Got it for Christmas from Mom one year, however, half the set was left at the Ex's house when I moved out. Would have def. bought this one. I bought the 7pce that was on another site yesterday. THOSE aren't even worth $10 ! ;) But they work.
As for "saving" money. You don't "save" any money, because you didn't spend the money in the first place to "save" it the next time That's the biggest pile of (_) around. ("SAVE $78"). I would never spend $100 on a knife set to begin with, but $22 I would have. ;).
@fallenanjel: I will say this, you can tell a HUGE difference between a $10-$22 set of knives & a set that is $200-$500. They way they feel in your hand, the way they cut, quality of the knife & the list goes on & on.
In the end you get what you pay for. If you have an issue with these I doubt the manufacturer will stand behind them. I know on my knives along with other "expensive" brands if you have a problem, issue, broken tip, etc. one call & they replace them no matter how long you have owned them.
Bought these exact knives 2 years ago for $20 at Sears. They're great but the great piece they came with was the santaku (I think I spelled that right) knife. I use it for everything.
Putting the words "professional" and "Farberware" in the same sentence is a contradiction of terms. Everything Ive ever bought with the Farberware name has fallen apart within a year. Its all cheap stuff. If you want a good set of knives, unfortunately you have to shell out some cash. Id say $150 and up is safe. There really is a difference.
