24 pack 4" assorted colors $2.99. Woot Oct. 2011

I know they went up on Woot after first to 3.99 then to 4.99. This deal is for longer glow sticks, but fewer. On the other hand, this includes ship and had to add that in to Woot. These are only one color....
Oh never mind.
Just feeling wistful.

@ceagee: Those are little kids glow sticks and these are more of a survival type glow stick. The difference is these things glow a lot brighter and last longer than the cheap kids ones.

I have about 5 of these things in my couple of survival packs and I paid about $1.50 each.

@decyde: Word of caution on survival glow sticks. They expire. Even if the date hasn't been reached yet or even if there is no expiration date, they lose their ability to glow when cracked over time.

@firebirdude: Yes but fortunately, Halloween is coming up so you can use up the ones in your packs that are about to expire. Or buy these for the kids.

I can't find anything on how long these things last for. I think I'd rather spend a couple extra bucks on something in the store that I know will last for "x" hours versus these which might only be the cheapy lights whose life-span is counted in minutes..

@romeojn: The package and the description say 12 hours... of course who knows how accurate that is.

@asylum56: my experience with these is they glow really bright for about 2-3 hours, then about 8-12 more hours at a decent brightness.

FWIW, if you get glowsticks for your kids, put them in the freezer when they go to bed, and it stops the chemical reaction until they are thawed. Wanna make em glow like CRAZY for a little while??? put them in microwave for about 6-8 seconds each!
