I feel really sorry for id (the makers of Rage). Their game, more than any other big name title released at the end of 2011, has dropped precipitously in price. The game got great reviews (most I saw were about 9 out of 10). Most reviewers seem to indicate it was nearly perfect except for the ending. The game is now getting close to the bargain bin after having been out for a few months.

Don't feel sorry for id - they released a raw and buggy game. I got it for the full retail price when it came out and it was unplayable. Now after the second patch that came out a few days ago I can finally finish it.

Honestly, as someone who preordered this, $15-20 is about the right pricepoint for the game. It's violently over-the-top and fun, but lacks overall gameplay qualities that make others great such as actual story, character development, replayability, etc...

I prordered this for the xbox 360 and I have loved all of it (minus the ending) Worth much more then this so this is a steal.

RAGE is the first game on idtech5, and it's a behemoth. Mega Texture has come of age, and the game really shines...once you get it running smoothly.

If you have an ATI card, make sure you use the newest drivers, otherwise it will sputter and fall flat from the get-go.

As far as the gameplay, I'm only maybe 1/4 in at most, and it's pretty standard run (drive), gun, race. There are quests, but they aren't particularly involving or unique. As I recall, RAGE was originally envisioned as a purely racing game, and the FPS elements crept in over time later.
