just got this for $100 even from Tiger Direct last week, though this still isn't a bad price.

The latest firmware for this unit brings Blockbuster and YouTube. Already supported Nexflix and Pandora. Have this unit and love it.

does this need any extra equipment to buy for netflix streaming?

Where is it $149? The link has it for $199.99 and no mention of free shipping.

EDIT: Ok, I'm dumb, click the title and it takes me to Amazon where it's $149 with free shipping. The other link confused me, as I am easily confused :)

@teereel: "All you need is an internet connection (either Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and a Netflix membership package that includes streaming, and you’re ready to go."

@teereel: after further checking, it doesn't come with the wifi dongle, or any memory. You have to use a USB flash drive with it for BD-Live titles, not sure about Netflix. Amazon reviews are scary, looks like lots of people have had problems, and only a 3 month warranty?

Costco = $149. Got one today. I want it to stream video through my Windows Home Server; will let you know if it can.

Because of the reviews on this model, what is the best player for Netflix streaming? Since Costco has such a great return policy, is it worth the purchase?

@mcfly51: Sound and Vision rated it tops in entry level players with internet/netflix. Plus it also streams Pandora radio...and that was at a $299 price!!

Best Buy has this for $149. I got an open-box one for $120 over the weekend, as well as a few "cheap" discs. I have to say that Fight Club looked amazing on my Panasonic 1080i.

I thought it was odd that I had to update the firmware twice to bring it up to date - once to 2.03, and then again to 2.05 - but it was even odder that downloading the firmware with the unit plugged in took about 4 times as long as it did using my laptop wirelessly (I did both simultaneously).

Pandora, YouTube, and Netflix are all great. (I heard a salesman tell a guy Netflix don't stream in HD on these. I bought it anyway but the other customer was clearly turned off. It absolutely streams in HD.)

My only disappointment (and the reason I bought a Samsung) is that it does not play mkv files. Using a usb HDD, it won't let me look in any folders using the video option. I can explore using the picture or music option, though. I assume this will be fixed eventually since they advertise that it plays them.

The LG BD370 is a newer unit and on Amazon right now for $130 shipped. The LG unit is higher rated, includes BDLive / Netflix streaming.

@todduh: Was the Samsung Blu-Ray player able to stream from a Windows Home Server? I am looking for that along with Netflix. Thanks
