Perfect i'm in the market for a new PS3, my current one took a dive after 6+ years.
@durans: @durans: If you are planning on getting a PS3 I recommend not getting this one. There are better PS3 bundles, which provide more games for the same price. If you are a big PSN guy and like to download they just came out with the new white PS3 at the price of $299. It comes with a year of PSN, 3 games, and a 500gb hard drive. They have normal bundles like the uncharted bundle that has 2 games and the normal ps3 for $250. There are not that many games that utilize the Eye, so it wouldn't be worth it, might as well get the extra games in another bundle. @benmason: Unfortunately the games included with the white console are limited to the 1 year subscription, meaning once the free-be runs out and you choose not to pay for a renewal, you'll lose access to the games.
@livinonedge: That's pretty terrible. I would assume they do with Microsoft does for the 360. When you purchase the game it is your's forever, with or without xbox live gold.
@benmason: If I'm not mistaken playstation plus gives you free games >.> you don't pay for them like you do on xbox so.... yeah no reason for them to let you keep them if you didn't pay least IMO. I've never had plus so I don't know if its true just thought i heard it somewhere before.
@dravack: i believe it's true. if you dl a game on PSN and do not renew you will still have the game on your hdd but will not be able to play it. when PSN got hacked a while back they gave users a free month of PSN and i remember getting some games in that month and then not being able to play them after. i was furious. i think thats a retarded way to run the PSN imho.
@cupofworms: That's not really the point. He's complaining that they take it away when your not paying for a subscription and that xbox is better because they don't take it away. I was arguing there's no reason you should be allowed to keep it.
You pay $0.00 for a game and you expect that you own it? All your paying for is $5 for the monthly subscription just like on xbox live. Least you get something with the PS3 plus. IE: The free games.
With xbox you pay cash for the game be it $4.99 or 2000 Microsoft points. Your still paying. Thats why you get to keep the games. If you want to keep psn games buy them.
And to all those fan boys out there. I'm not saying one is better than the other. I own both system and 99.99999% play on the xbox. I can't remember the last time I turned on my ps3. Still have to say that plus is better than gold. -.- I hate paying for really no added features.
Just got this for my husband for his birthday, and I wish I would have waited a few days to get it at $10 cheaper and free shipping. Oh well! It arrived yesterday and the bundle is nice.
