now only 10x as expensive as an HDD!

Really? Where can I find a 1-1/4 TB laptop internal hard drive for $90, shipped?

Good price for a 120GB SSD. If you need 1TB+ for storage just make it your secondary drive and the SSD the primary. No other computer upgrade does as much for you as an SSD drive for everyday computer use.

Performance

Sustained Sequential WriteUp to 270 MB/s

Can you say "slow" ?

@bbasbagi: SATA II. In case someone happens to miss it.

@bayjacob: It's $116.28 shipped and it's a 1TB 5400RPM hard disk. It's not even remotely as fast as this SSD. Not even in the same ballpark. We won't even get into the details how much more quite and rugged the SSD is... both relevant characteristics of a laptop drive.

@bbasbagi: Never thought I'd see the day when 280MB/s SUSTAINED would be considered "slow" by someone. Especially since the fastest burst transfer (not even sustained) of a 10k RPM HHD is 157MB/s. Let alone your average 7200RPM drive...

@jonartz: Which is good up to 3GB/s

@firebirdude: I know. Not knocking your deal. It's a fantastic price for an SSD. I was just sad because I'm looking for an SSD with SATA III interface.

@misry: Reviews on that site for it don't make it sound too promising. Looked like a deal otherwise...

@jonartz:

What you want is this:

That's a very nice SSD. Or, try getting a crucial M4 for $100-110. This m4 for $110 deal expires in 2 hours so I doubt you'll see it...:

M4 is extremely reliable, very stable, and decently fast.
