I don't want to be an asshole, but that is normal "Sale" price on the premium edition. I don't know about you but I can always find the Mr. Beer on "Sale."

I am a homebrewer with a full setup, and I will say this... for someone who wants a no commitment "taste" of what homebrewing might be like, this isn't a horrible way to go. Give it a try, and if you don't mind the process, shell out a bit more money for a real setup and you are off to the races.

Just a heads up, that's the same price as amazon and it's eligible for prime/super saver shipping (http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Beer-Premium-Edition-Microbrewery/dp/B00007G2IX)

I've been homebrewing for several years. It's a great hobby. You can get a 5 gallon real brewing kit for around $100 and usually that includes ingredients for your first brew. If you didn't want to invest that much you can buy 1 gallon kits for around $50. One gallon of homebrew will produce around 8 - 9 12oz bottles. There are several great online brew shops. www.northernbrewer.com / www.morebeer.com / www.midwestsupplies.com / www.brewmasterswarehouse.com

I've brewed several batches of beer with my Mr. Beer kit and it's probably the simplest and easiest kit out there to make your own beer. Follow the steps and you will have beer in a month (the earliest). Also check out http://www.brewersbestkits.com/ for more in depth brewing.

I have to agree with @stevenlee212 , that a 1 gallon kit is a much better place to start than a mr beer. I have this same mr beer kit and have made a few batches and recently upgraded to a full on 5 gallon set up. What I have found is the mr beer is way too dumbed down and you see it in the quality. You will get much better beer with a 1 gallon kit for not much more than you are paying for a mr beer kit. And you use the real brewing process not a super easy version.

I originally bought my Mr. Beer Premium kit from Woot for $24.95 plus the $5 shipping. I haven't found a place that can beat that price yet. I just bottled my second batch tonight, although I used a recipe from Northern Brewer to make it (the White House Honey Ale). I guess this is a "sale" price compared to getting it directly from Mr. Beer's site. I don't know if I'll ever advance to brewing the 5 gallon batches, it's still just a new fun hobby for me (and I'm not that big of a beer drinker.) Cheers everybody!
