I don't understand why there are soooo many deals on headphones. Is it because they break so often or get lost and so it is good to have a back up set? Is Altec Lansing really a good brand?

Am I the only one who chuckles when I see "Noise Isolation"? To me it sounds like they're trying to mislead people to think they're "noise canceling", when in reality it just means they have a rubber plug that fits in your ear, like a lot of other earbuds.

I don't chuckle.. I get slightly annoyed… Since some headphones are also using noise cancellation as a term, but when you dig in and read the fine print it's noise isolating only. Or "Big padded headphones that cut down on noise so they must be noise canceling" and they are not. I bet most people don't read the fine print so the mfg continue to misrepresent their product.

Looking over the amazon reviews:
5 star 10
4 star 5
3 star 3
2 star 7
1 star 2

The lower stars (3,2,1) all note poor mid and upper range, and the 2 and 1 star note poor design, quick to fail.
You get what you pay for I suppose.

@tsfisch: Blushing - I had not caught the difference; but I did question why the Bose that I want someday when I find them at a good price were so expensive and larger than earbuds we see all the time at such low prices. Had you not posted, I would have continued on in complete ignorance!
