When you go to the store to pick them up go straight to layaway. No one else in my store had any idea of what to do.

@daefaroth: Thanks! It seems to be their company policy of not having "any idea of what to do". It applies to pretty much all the Kmarts we've been to.

When I went to the store to pick up my AA'a I asked about the AAA's showing up as not in stock, the person at the layaway desk called another worker and that person brought me the AAA's at the advertised price.

So now I have enough batteries to last me for awhile.
Even though most of my battery powered stuff have Eneloops installed.
Now that would be a sale that I could get behind, Eneloops at the same amount of a discount.that these were marked down.

I suppose when it comes to Kmart it really is YMMV. When I got to the layaway desk I was sent to "customer service". I put that in quotes because that's like calling the local sewage treatment plant a gourmet restaurant. The real parody is when the customer service rep had to whip out a large binder for online orders. The orders were hand-transcribed onto a paper chart. It's not even a computer print out. So if their handwriting is bad, you're SOL. Took her a while to locate my order on the list then off she goes…. to chat with another coworker. When I looked at her after a couple of minutes, she said "I'll be right with you" and broke off the conversation. She proceeded to a locker on the opposite direction of where her chat buddy was and got my batteries. What should've taken a grand total of 5 minutes lasted more than 15. That's why my wife's famous saying "That's why Kmart is Kmart" comes to mind. I finally remember why we don't shop there.
